More people have died from the flu since the beginning of June, we need to get the kids back to school, not to mention that it frees up parents to get the economy going again.

Starmer is right to back Johnson on this point.

Well, not even Corbyn committed to free movement in the manifesto (even from the EU after Brexit). Don't worry too much. Open borders is a minority demand among Labour members. And I've just heard that despite some Momentumy people leaving the party, our constituency membership is up.
 
Fair play to Starmer for calling out the nonsense of not singing the lyrics of Land of Hope and Glory, and Jerusalem.

The Labour Party will never, ever win an election being an anti-British party, just a shame he had to do it through an unnamed 'Labour spokesperson'.

You are confusing the FBFE liberal left nutjobs with what was the "Socialist" Labour party.

I have said repeatedly on here that Labour should have took the Bennite anti -EU stance and they would have been in power, with a Socialist government and none of this liberal stuff that has ignited the culture wars would have happened. Labour is at its best being Socialist not liberal, its socially conservative, economically Socialist, but the metro liberal middle class took the party over and are now in charge again. This nonsense about freedom of movement, will in my opinion lead to calls to rejoin the EU and a Labour Party true to its roots simply cannot exist under a Neo Liberal economic system. Labour was always more authoritarian, patriotic and based in the working class, after all its the working class who do the dying in wars, its the working class who love their country, its the working class who love the institutions such as the NHS, the BBC, the Welfare state, the working class were also proud of the country being a welcoming place to asylum seekers, because they see them not in terms of race but in terms of class. Its the RW media who have ignited the culture wars and cunts like Farage using useful idiots in the working class to turn on each other. The only people who really benefit from a divided working class are the capitalist class and the capitalist class own the media and use it to propagandise events in order to create division.

A classic case of what I stated to AC above.

Its a non story propagandised to split the working class, the Labour left is not anti British, the Labour right is pro-EU and that is the nuance, its an attack on the labour right and their metro liberal sympathies.

Me personally, I couldn't give two fucks if its sung or not, they are shit songs and Last Night Proms is basically a Toffs night out for the London Elite. If people want to sing them its fine by me, if people think they are shit then that's also fine.

What did amuse me was the Defund the BBC cranks going apeshit about it not being sung, the daft cunts wont see it being sung if they get there way and the BBC is defunded. Fucking clowns.
 
Ed Miliband did great today. Normally I find his Blair with a speech impediment routine a bit wet but he delivered a proper knockout blow to BJ today. Starmer likewise dismantles BJ most weeks but seems to lack that killer instict or something. Whatever Starmer says BJ seems to bluff and bluster back in return - Miliband left him sitting there like a 12 yr old kid that's just had a bollocking off his dad.
