Keir Starmer

Just read that a leaked Labour document has said they plan to get the working classes back through patriotism, displaying the Union flag, and positioning themselves as very supportive of veterans.

That’s going to confuse a lot of their members and more ardent supporters. Everything they love and hate under one roof.
But will, in a small part but at least some part, start to get people like me onside. I’ve grown bored to death of the lack of patriotism from the left. And pretty furious over patriotism shaming and purposeful conflation of patriotism with nationalism, from the left.

It’s good to know someone within Labour has recognised that people in the country are getting sick of this shit.

I thought he was talking nonsense, just not the nonsense Starmer thought he was. Given he’s correlating it to the vaccine rollout, I get why Starmer could have made the mistake if he wasn’t listening properly.
I watched it live and the main point that Starmer was talking about was closing the borders, why weren’t they closed from this time last year, why they aren’t closed now, why they won’t be closed in the future; and Johnson threw in the thing about the EMA which had nowt to do with the question.

Starmer got it wrong about saying he didn’t say it, but he was probably sat there thinking “what’s this bloke talking about?!”

Ive stopped watching it live, was getting too frustrated with the speaker not stepping in and making Johnson actually answer the question he’s been asked so that doesn’t surprise me in the slightest!

Okay, what I posted was tiredness as I'd had a hypo earlier in the morning at 0430.

We KNOW Labour, with Starmer and co, wanted to REMAIN in the EU and Corbyn wanted to LEAVE it.

So, Corbyn wanted the OPPOSITE his party's democratic view.

Is that okay now?
It's OK mate, I have a daughter with type one, and understand hypo's, hope
you're OK now. And yes, what you say is correct.

The knives are starting to come out for Starmer now. Even the Guardian is joining in. Dull, uninspiring and policy-lite seems to be the common theme.

It's hard to see who they have who might do better.

It’s odd. I cannot stand the Labour Party but like Starmer.

He’s got so much integrity.

I've got him filed under 'Snidey Remainer ****' who was manoeuvring to get a second referendum when he was in Corbyn's shadow cabinet. A second referendum that was going to have three options:

Remain
Leave with some shit deal that Labour cobbled together
Leave with no deal

A split Leave vote ensuring Remain won at a canter

He's better than Corbyn, though, obviously.

He is a snide.

He purposefully made Labour's brexit position untenable.

Since he won the leadership contest he has been just about above hopeless. He shows the occasional sign of getting it but he has split the party, got rid of the left, membership is falling, the finances are in a mess and locally they are now begging people to do the hard yards.

None of it really matters though, in my humble opinion the Labour party is finished for at least a generation. The shadow cabinet is full of nomarks, there is no obvious replacement leader for Keith though such is the dearth of talent available.

Welcome to a generation of Tory exploitation .

What do you mean by lack of patriotism?

And how are the left conflating Nationalism with Patriotism exactly, if it makes you so furious why is that?

What shit are people sick of?

There would not have been three options.

Now if the original referendum had had just two options, (1) Remain or (2) Leave either with a shit deal or with no deal, Remain would have won at a canter.

You can't criticise Starmer for realising Brexit was shite and wanting to stop it without criticising every Leaver politician who lied about how good it would be.
