Keir Starmer

He is a snide.

He purposefully made Labour's brexit position untenable.

Since he won the leadership contest he has been just about above hopeless. He shows the occasional sign of getting it but he has split the party, got rid of the left, membership is falling, the finances are in a mess and locally they are now begging people to do the hard yards.

None of it really matters though, in my humble opinion the Labour party is finished for at least a generation. The shadow cabinet is full of nomarks, there is no obvious replacement leader for Keith though such is the dearth of talent available.

Welcome to a generation of Tory exploitation .
You don't think Corbyn split the party? We were so united under his decisive and charismatic leadership.

I'm going through my list of Labour voters who wouldn't vote for Corbyn. They're coming back to the fold.

Every leader since I can remember split the party, the party never truly unifies under any one, however you find when one faction is in control the others carry on helping to win, when another faction gets control the other faction undermines and has tantrums, even I would say be willing to mess up election plans

Foot saw a split and someright mard arseary

Kinnock was hated by the left but they backed his GE campaigns, bar some of the dicks more interested in fame.

Smith is probably the exceptipn to the rule, was well regarded by many on all sides of the party and if he hadn't died we would have a very different country now if his dream of complete constitutional reform and full federal devolution had happened. Though tossers like roy hattersly opposed him

Blair, loved to piss off his detractors, decide to ditch smiths more euro aproach with a continuation of americanised neo-liberalist economics mixed with a more caring social policy, still not popular with many lefties, found god, went a bit war crazy

Brown, again a split, this was more factions of NL rather than left v right or the party, the left just carried on supporting labour in power, while grumbling at times

Milliband, more about saddos who like his blander, policy light brother crying tgat the unions backed Ed

Corbyn, wel we have talked about him enough tbf.

starmer, his eagerness to please those in the party who had hissy fits over jezza while relying on the lefts normally loyalty to the cause, unfortunatley we have the new social media generation of hysterical comment and bollocks

Every one of them leaders has had parts of the party fighting against them for various reasons

Really is nothing new.

Just did.

Mail

Telegraph
Express

Running the story, these papers have something in common though.

Saying that Falconer was AG when Dr Kellys murder, sorry suicide happened and swept it under that carpet, as I said no stranger to controversy

UG answered for me.

I wont be voting Labour under Starmer unless i see a real radical change in him. I don't vote for least worst, i want to vote for something. At the moment that does not exist so my vote will be wasted. Not that it makes much difference as I live in a Tory/Lib Dem marginal and I am certainly not voting for either of those sets of cunts.

Obviously you are commenting from the other end of the political spectrum than me but I agree with your point about Starmer locking Labour into an effective Remain position. His six tests ensured no deal could ever meet his conditions with one alone scuppering anything on offer....this was the condition that a deal must provide 'the exact same benefits that our current membership of the single market and customs union bring'. This position effectively doomed Labour in the last election just as much as Corbyn's policies did.

The idea behind a second referendum was to ensure that Remain won and the electorate saw right through it. I'll answer @Vic here too. The three option second referendum was specifically put forward by Yvette Cooper-Balls, a key Starmer supporter. She put forward the three options I listed and said 'it's only fair to offer all options on the table'. To her credit, she managed to keep a straight face when she said it.

I don't hate him, i am struggling to find reasons to like him. I honestly really wanted him to do well and I think he has probably got a good heart and he is no Tory, but he is no Labour leader either.

I suppose i am indifferent to him and that in itself says a lot because I have never been indifferent to a Labour leader before.
