Not sure if you did that on purpose but I’d say that spelling was correct.

‘Poems’ are nouns, as are ‘poets’, but the adjective ‘poetic’ is definitely more verbal (assuming that’s a correct word, in that context) as it relates to the manifestation of something and is a quasi-adverb - thereby ‘license’ is permissible imo.

I did as it’s probably one of the few instances where the s and c are legitimately interchangeable.
