Doubt it.Tories rejoice as Starmer is elected.
He was by far the most credible candidate and is best placed to hold the government to account and steer the party away from the disastrous direction that Corbyn had taken it.

Despite his remain stance he is without doubt the best candidate for the job and i hope he drags the party back towards a left of centre stance that is proven as electable.
That said i genuinely fear for him as his enemies within will not be going anywhere fast and they will be all out to topple him and to install their own man/woman again.

As a Conservative voter I am pleased that Starmer has won. He is a mainstream politician & not a back to the 70s socialist nutter like Corbyn. Long-Bailey would have been Corbyn-Lite.

Was always going to happen,and probably the best choice though if he appoints reeves as shadow chancellor as expected then I wil be less impressed.

Just read his top 5 policy proposals. There's plenty in there that will upset all his Tory fanboys on here.
He's certainly far to the left of Blair. Nationalising trains, power etc. No illegal wars. Reversal of corporation tax cuts. Raising tax for the wealthiest 5%.
It's not Marxism,but come the next election the Tory press will be saying it is.
Seems a decent bloke so good luck to him.
