Keir Starmer

Talking about business now, Mandy has wrote this, Blair is pulling the strings in the background.

What a rubbish speech. Very disappointing.

A good line

Inequality is not only morally bankrupt, it is economic stupidity as well.

It was a 1/10 speech, with the 1 for the above line.

Even the FBFE fruitcakes on twitter are disappointed.

It appears his speech has not done him any favours at all, he has pissed off everybody apart from a handful of the faithful Blairites.

I know twitter is no real barometer, but its overwhelmingly negative towards him.

Thing is he didn't really say anything.

Yeah, the FBFE fruitcakes are annoyed he never mentioned Brexit, the Tories mocked him as saying nothing, the Left are mocking him for saying less and the odd Blairite is claiming it was wonderful

I really want to see him be passionate, I want him to succeed, I want him to embrace the whole of the left, because he has to be better than the fucking halfwit and his shower of useless cunts that are in charge but I don't get who he is targeting at all. I don't see who he thinks is his core vote.

I can’t actually believe people exist that think Corbyn is a better option for PM than Starmer.

You are all entitled to your opinions but I still cannot quite fathom it.

He needs to ditch this lawyer's style of presentation, everything down to the mannerisms is of a bland and dispassionate QC.

thats his problem - one on one at PMQ's he can show Johnson up with his recollection of facts and clear hard questioning that leaves Johnson floundering. He made a lot of decent points in his speech but delivered them poorly - if he could deliver that sort of fact in the manner of say a Kinnock when he took on militant at the Party Conference he could inspire people but that was too reminiscent of that Steeve Coogan "nobody died " character

Who is comparing him to corbyn? Who mentioned corbyn?

Only you still seem obsesses with the man, not anyone else, he is irrelevent to the critics of starmers approach.

Starmer is being criticised on here and wider by all sides of the party as he is coming across stiff and passionless and without anything avout him to inspire.

Though it is easy to just throw corbyn into any rebuttal of criticisms of the starmers strategy I supose rather than give a defence, as at present their isn't one.

He has dissapointed the right, left and center of the party

That’s the reason you’re all on here like a bunch of school girls slagging off someone that used to be in their group, for every little thing he does.

The reason Starmer is getting so much stick is because he’s not, and got rid of, Corbyn.

Let’s be perfectly honest here.

His manifesto will be as left wing as Corbyn’s in 2017. He’s nationalising several big industries and going on a vast public expenditure mission.

Carry on though, I hope Labour never get in again, I’ve seen and heard enough from everyone below Starmer to have now completely put me off. It’s just a shame he’s leader of that party because he’s a thoroughly excellent candidate.

Well that's bollocks.

Starmer talked about savings and new bond schemes (that he has lifted from a thatcher think tank) neglecting to understand that that does nothing for those that cannot afford to buy from a new bond scheme or how he is going to lift people out of poverty or give them the means to.

Saying you are going to be bold and inivative with the economy, without actually having an smidgen of a plan isn't either bold or initavive.

When I watch starmers speaches and interviews I get annoyed that he talks a lot and says nothing, I cannot tell if he is left leaning or right leaning from what he says as he says fuck all, that is the problem.

What his New chair and the executicive do though, which has been to stiffle the left wings influence is undeniable, how much starmer is involved in this? Well that is up for specupation

Corbyn has fuck all to do with criticism of todays speach it bar a few social media cranks.

Yet only you brought him up
I’ve read between the lines. It may not be the case specifically for you but the rest on this thread attack Starmer for literally anything and they all bring up Corbyn consistently in threads around the sub forum.

I honestly cannot fathom why they’d prefer him, it’s mind boggling.
