Keir Starmer

Its interesting that they describe Galloway as an left wing extremist, gorgeous has been on a journey and is now a social conservative. Yes he still has his old passions such as Palestinian rights which will play to the Muslim population of Batley and Spen, but a leftist extremist he is not, he is a Unionist, a supporter of Brexit (friend of Farage), an inherent Social conservative. anti woke, and not surprisingly an advocate for GB News. He has always been a chameleon has George and he still claims to be a Socialist and says he is standing to oppose Starmer. To be fair his Workers Party is probably closer to traditional Labour than todays metro liberal Blairite crew.
We had to put up with that twat here in levenshulme when we was going for MP. The only community he was interested in speaking to was the pakistani community, which he wrongly figured would vote for him, using divisive politics to try and drive a very diverse and complex community apart, with no knowledge of the area as he doesn't live here. He's trying to do it again there. The man is a shit stain.

Starmer is showing some personality in PMQs today. Has someone had a word?

Accusing Johnson of claiming he scored the winner at Wembley.

Those two things may shape the future of Starmer, and indeed Labour for the next 5-10 years. He 'wins' at PMQ's every week, but it doesn't seem to have any impact. Maybe all the covid tea time briefs have meant that PMQ's are no longer the greatest time the PM has in the public eye on a weekly basis, or it's just that the weekly sight of Kier being a lawyer v BJ being a bullshitter is getting boring.

Rayner calling bullshit on a times article saying she's canvassing for the top job.

Also a little dickie bird tells me Burnham will be quitting as mayor to stand as an MP in Rochdale.

I can see Burnham doing it, but much as I respect what Rayner has done in her life she's too 'Vicky Pollard' for the top job.

She has zero class

as for starmer “winning” pmq’s, ok. Echos of solakjaer about him. Absolutely crap and then every so often his supporters decide he’s god on the back of the equivalent of a europa league victory.

Apart from the strange few PMQ's when he just backed everything Boris said re the pandemic Starmer has 'won' every week. For some reason though makes no impact. Most telling for me was when Ed Milliband stood in and had Boris sat there like a naughty school boy. For some reason (maybe bland personality) Starmer can't do that.

Winning at PMQs doesn't matter until PMQs matters, which at the moment, it doesn't.

I think Starmers problem is that as a former prosecutor he is trained to and can ask questions of the type " when did you stop beating your wife " - and that really gets under Johnsons skin and he goes off the rails and comes across really badly, The issue is that as a prosecutor he riles "the accused" gets them to incriminate themselves and then leaves it to the jury to come to the inevitable conclusion. But in the chamber there is no jury and he lacks the political acumen to ask the question then wade in on the answer to pummel Johnson.

Turns out they are two heavyweights - Johnson is the lardy pale one that should be out of his depth and just wants to try to smother and hang on to his opponent as much as possible - Starmer is the honed machine who knows how to duck and dive and use the ring but when it comes to it lacks the reach and when he does land one its no harder than his jab.

What do you define as having class?

What examples are there of her having zero class?

Slight point of pedantry.

I don't think he ever worked as a prosecutor. He was exclusively a defence barrister primarily in Human Rights before he joined the CPS as DPP, but he obviously didn't attend court in that role.

Although I agree with the general point. He would have also mastered preempting questions from the opposing side.

The way she handles herself in tv interviews and in HP.
Would you prefer it if she had a plummy Etonian accent, dressed like Anne Widdecombe and showed more deference to the Upper Class.

She is a working class kid from a run down council estate who went to shit secondary school, that makes her far more representative of the people than a kid who went to Eton was born in a mansion and had a nanny.

Well we stood alone as the only European country that carried on the fight. Make no mistake the US did not declare war on Germany, Germany declared war on the US.

From those few countries that backed us it was the British manufacturing base and efforts that kept us in the fight and allowed us to stand up to the Nazis, If you want to play that achievement down then that is your perogative.
I agree with most of this, but there were a lot of people in France in the resistance and Poles who joined the R.A.F. as examples, who fought on against the nazis.

Jeeze, i still cant believe that Rascal who always comes across as very knowledgeable has said that it was extreme right wing ideological myth that Britain stood alone between 1940 and 1941.

Mate, regardless of whether farage or the extreme right wing used this. You are on very dodgy ground stating what you did if you think that will aid the socialist cause in this country. Its rhetoric like that and pictures of him standing next to terrorists and inviting IRA members into the houses of parliment that did more damage to corbyn than offering free wifi. Anyway have a good evening, im off down the pub to have a freezing pint.
Re Corbyn and the I.R.A. - somebody had to do something.
How many more people would have been murdered otherwise?

Class is not about where you came from or how much money you have.
