Yes he did well today,I was impressed...chalk & cheese from bj's attempts. Two flags Keith sounding very statesmanlike.
Also (unlike BoJo) he does scrub up well.

Champagne Socialism.Champagne socialism init ;)
Like Ash Sarker who calls herself a luxury Communist.Champagne Socialism.
One of the most misunderstood phrases in the political lexicon.
Used as an insult, its not an insult at all.
It is the belief that under Socialism everyone can drink Champagne, not just the owners of capital.
"But he protects nonces!"Listening to Keith on James 0'Briens full disclosure podcast.
He comes across as thoroughly decent, quite reserved, humble and diligent.
The exact antithesis of the lying narcissist we currently have ruining the country.
It was a given as he was very well thought of.Labour hold jack Dromey's seat
It’s interesting the lack of coverage of this. Labour hold the seat and although a low turnout they increase their vote share yet hardly a word from the media. It was a given as he was very well thought of.
However, the doorsteppers got a bit of stick about Starmer from what one of union comrades who campaigned told me.
They were saying they couldbt connect with him. The Sir title makes him sound more Tory than a labour leader.
Agreed. It’s interesting the lack of coverage of this. Labour hold the seat and although a low turnout they increase their vote share yet hardly a word from the media.
Increased vote share? BBC went with "reduced majority".It’s interesting the lack of coverage of this. Labour hold the seat and although a low turnout they increase their vote share yet hardly a word from the media.
There was a very low turnout so had to be a reduced majority. Basically, Labour increased their share, Conservatives had a reduced share.Increased vote share? BBC went with "reduced majority".
Labour now have a leader to be proud of. Pragmatic, sensible, intelligent, refuses to engage in hyperbole and he backs the government when he thinks it’s in the country’s best interests to.https://www.newstatesman.com/commen...ir-starmer-has-reclaimed-labours-true-history
Opinion piece that will annoy the cranks that make up the Corbyn fan club, but it is spot on.
So he's appeased to right wing press.https://www.newstatesman.com/commen...ir-starmer-has-reclaimed-labours-true-history

I take it you would be happy with that outcome. So he's appeased to right wing press.
He'll be PM in no time as they don't see him as a threat.
There's more chance that he will deliver beneficial changes than Johnson. He's the anti Boris in many ways.
However if elected he won't make any real change for the people that voted for him. Even if he manages a Blair like first term majority. Like Biden he will promise so much and deliver little.
