The point is Starmer is the party leader.
Everyone needs to support him otherwise the press will have a field day - Labour a party in turmoil and all that.
Starmer isn't much different to Blair imo, but he's all we have.
The main aim is to vote out the incumbents.
Support the bloke.

I think Corbyn would struggle to prove that, as Starmer's not flat out called him anti-Semitic.

Given that he was initially suspended because of his reaction to the EHRC report, it's not much of a jump to say that disciplining him was part of the process of rooting out anti-Semitism.

You're making a jump that isn't there. The reason given for Corbyn's suspension was due to his reaction to the EHRC report, and going against the leader's instructions with his response, then refusing to withdraw it.

I won't get into whether that was an excuse, and they were looking for a reason to suspend him, but that's the official line.

If he's been suspended because he was seen to undermine the party's stance on tackling anti-semitism, then clearly you can link his suspension to "rooting out anti-semitism". If he'd reacted to the report in the same way that every other member of the Campaign Group did, then he'd still be a Labour MP.

Aye, also, it’s not hard to see the political advantages to Starmer. It removes the Tory attack line of ‘Labour is still the party of Corbyn!’ - ‘they won’t let Corbyn stand’ - ‘fuck!’

It‘s politics 101. Don’t give your opponents ammunition.

The line was crossed years ago tbf. Turns out Williamson was on to something when he urged him to fight it .... because they will never stop unless you do. Unsurprisingly Jezzer took the appeasement route. If these cunts had a modicum of decency they'd have let him shuffle off to the back benches

He’s done alright with the electorate in Islington North for the past 40 years. No one would be batting an eyelid about him still being an MP right now nor next election.
