My concerns about nationalising broadband are less to do with championing the free market and more to do with the dangers of any government taking ownership of private communications infrastructure.I agree with you over the last few pages and most of that post^. But I do think nationalising broadband is a good idea. It’s a necessity for most of us now, especially those increasingly working from home, and it’s a ‘thing’ in South Korea.

While secure encrypted comms is more and more common it isn't universal and I don't like the idea of the government making it easier and easier to "tap" into citizens' private communications due to them owning the pipeline.
Yes it's probably a bit tin foil hat but it's a slippy slope and I don't want us to become like China.
