Keir Starmer

Completely agree, done lots of things right but, lacks the image and connection needed to get through to the electorate, he needs to go.

We've become a nation that picks personality over policy and the right wing media backed by foreign billionaires pick the darling to do their biding.

Unfortunately, we're gonna have to go through self inflicted 70s type economical pain before people finally wake up.
He didn't even react to fuel price hikes, a simple thing to do, he is weak and indecisive and has no connection to people outside his group. He is literally the definition of the Westminster bubble. How the fuck the labour members and MP's thought a knight of the realm from Surrey and a lawyer to boot would connect with traditional Labour supporters is astonishing really.

The trouble with all governments is they always let the people who voted them in down we are always easy targets, smokers drinkers motorists families pensioners and more

Thanks for pinpointing the exact month and year during the 'shaking off the fleas' period

but then again there was a time when you recognised that the EHRC was anything but an independent arbiter.

I've never changed my mind on that. The EHRC is a mess, the Equality Act is a mess, come the day of the great Repeal Act they're gone.

Oh, the month and year are beside the point, the point is the clip was deliberately posted out of context.

Unfortunately for Starmer the same back benchers who will force him out are the same people who have forced U-turns on policies that may well have not created the situation.

Might go against the grain on here but I don't dislike the bloke, in another age I think he may have made a good PM. He's really stuck with the tossers he has on the back benches who think money can be handed out as soon as it drops off the tree and of course Rachel from accounts who seems to do everything she can to drop him in the cart.

I don't dislike him as there isnt much there to make an opinion on.

Rayner like Prescott was supposed to appease the back benches and unions but, it didn't work out.

You're r right, folding on certain policies has caused some of the fiscal issues, strong leadership was needed and he folded like a cheap suit.

Other policies like cutting winter fuel allowance didn't raise much and werent worth the backlash.

How many votes has cutting that cost them to save them at most £450 million paid to people who'd paid in for 50 years, less than handed to the French to hand out life jackets.

His name has become synonymous with incompetence and failure which makes him toxic to the hopes and ambitions of the Labour party.

If he is indeed the leader that he is reputed to be, for the good of the party he should be acknowledging the need for fresh leadership and committing to a timetable within which that will happen.

His stance on Palestine was enough for me. Plus the way he got the job in the first place backed by 2 utter scumbags. He’s hard t hate i’ll give him that because he’s such a square.

What was he supposed to do about the fuel price spike ? He has taken action on price gauging, he has taken action on energy bills more to follow, he has taken action on heating oil. The is probably getting a bit of extra money from tax but also spending more on borrowing etc. What if the straight opened the day after the announced any action they are then spending money they don’t have on something that’s going away as in issue.

Too posh ? Boris ? Farage ? Mogg etc etc his father was a tool maker don’t you know.

They could have adjusted the tax applied to fuel over a certain level, say at £1.50 per litre, the duty is reduced to keep the total tax take level.
Fuel tax currently 53p/litre plus 20% VAT.

One of the steps he should take is getting rid of Miliband and his obsession with Green policies. People are concerned with the here and now and the impact energy issues are having on them.

There is no one else. He knows chaos will follow.
