Keir Starmer

One thing that Brits do not like is being taken for granted. So when Burnham parachutes himself into this constituency I think he's in for a very rude shock. People will think we want a proper constituency MP not somebody who is there to use us as a stepping stone in his political ambitions.
Apart from those voters that think Starmer’s a ****.

Bit like Farage in Clackton then?

Going to be a lot of knocking on doors and kissing babies in Makerfield. To think a constituency of around 76000 , half of which probably won’t vote will likely hugely influence who runs a nation of 60 odd million for the next 3 years is crazy. Have to wonder why we keep doing this to ourselves and will likely push centrist parties to adopt policies of the more extremes to win power. Think labour would be far better riding out the current storm. Burn ham, Rayner and Streeting showing no loyalty in dash for top seat. What a shower we are presented with across the board.

Grow up you soppy sod !
It's your language and tone that is both childish and soppy.

"infantile twat".

"Did you climax after posting that - fucking embarrassing and child like!

Pretty immature and childish speak don't you think?

Are you embarrassed for starting such silly responses? you should be.

BTW Starmer is certainly a dead man walking wouldn't you agree?

The consequences of Farage winning in Makerfield and then the GM Mayoralty are dire.

And to gamble on that out of self interest or extreme arrogance is unbelievable. At this point you hold your nerve and stay the course. The backstabbing , about turns and leadership changes has wiped the Tory’s out and fear labour are about to do the same.

You really cannot apply those things to every single pensioner in the UK who are mostly struggling to put the heating on.

For those not rich where do you propose they live? Freeze to death on the streets or in a tent?

Do you seriously believe all pensioners are fucking loaded?
Most pensioners are not struggling to keep heating on. How many pensioners die sleeping rough? (Rough sleepers die before they get a pension.)

That sort of hyperbole does nothing to deal with the real cases of pensioner poverty.

Within the world I operate, my vocabulary is very good, but not quite exceptional I’d say. Some cunts put me to shame.

So I’ve got a decent vocabulary. Written and oral.

fwiw.
Whose oral vocabulary is different from their written vocabulary?

I'd invite you to join the Pedants' Society but someone would point out it's the Society of Pedants.

The latter allows more time to consider the words chosen, and contains the capacity to deploy (and recalibrate without anyone knowing) one’s vocabulary more carefully. So there is a distinction, perhaps not in the words available in one’s head but in terms of how effectively they are deployed - and plenty are exceptional and the latter but struggle to express themselves anywhere as effectively in the former. It’s actually very widespread. Self confidence be will be a huge factor in that.

There is no point having the words available if you can’t effectively deploy them in a particular way I.e. orally. It’s about delivering your vocabulary through that medium which sone struggle to do as effectively as they do in written work where they are not required to deliver words in an ex tempore fashion.

Yes, if we assume about 30,000 peeople will vote, and perhaps half of them will continue to vote like they've always done, we're basically giving about 15,000 people a choice of PM.

It's probably the most important by-election there has ever been.

I think Burnham will lose, and lose by a lot, and I simply don't understand why he's seen as a saviour.

Worst of all for me though, is that is there really nobody from 400+ labour MPs who is good enough to be PM? Shocking, but true I guess.

Are you suggesting it should be means tested?
I heard/read similar the other day. Just can't remember where now.
I think a first step would be to get it to a fair amount probably more than now and link it to inflation not triple lock wages, inflation or 2.5 that would cost more now but save money long term. I think you will then have to means test it Blair’s institute had some interesting ideas on the pension

Pensionsioners are richer than working people now on average. Should pensioners be subsidies by poorer people ? I think 1 in 9 are higher rate tax payers

I am not really saying we get rid of it but something needs to be done so you not agree ?

Where did I apply them to all pensioners ?

Where did I say they are all loaded ?

I bet there are plenty who are struggling who could / should downsize or take out equity release and would then not be worrying. We would tell working people to do that especially if they are on benefits.

I also think people have to take some responsibility for there own retirement back in the day lots of people had great workplace schemes and other people saved tiny amounts into private pensions and ended up with big pots and valuable houses. Why have other people not managed the same when in similar jobs ? And now my generation or younger are making amazing choices using aps crypto forex stocks and share AI etc why should they pay for people not making those choices when the info is out there ?
