It all comes down to pep and whether he sees Nacho being part of his plans. If he senses he doesn't, it is understandable that he would hanker for more game time elsewhere. With Kun getting the games, even when out of form, it looks like the writing may already be on the wall.
Yep. That comes with wanting to be one of the best clubs in the world. Big clubs everywhere lose good players because they don't feel they are playing enough. I love Kelechi and think he has a bright future. If that is at City I will be thrilled and if it is elsewhere, I wish him all the best.

Nicely put KC.

He must get getting a bit frustrated at his lack of opportunities recently and with Gabriel Jesus arriving after Advent things not looking too promising for the near future.
On the other hand the league games will be coming thick and fast with no international breaks and extra fixtures over festive season and that Watford game in mid December so surely Kun will need a break there and there's the FA Cup on the horizon.
We certainly should not be loaning Kelechi out but Pep needs to reassure the lad that he's a big part of his plans going forward.

That's the crux though, has he?

Out of interest would you rather we sold him than loan him out if he cannot get the amount of game time he desires?

Well either Pep and his advisors reckon that he's a viable alternative to Kun and other regulars in which case he needs to be left in no doubt about that or if the decision has (hastily IMO) already been taken that Kelechi is lacking in ability and/or desire to fight for extra game time then it's probably best for all parties that he moves on as poster Jon Stakes suggested.
I would be sad if he goes as it would be another to add to the list of academy players to be shipped out when we hoped for better (Lopes, Rekik, Denayer, D Suarez, Pozo etc.)
I do realise that some of those lads wanted to leave but there is a feeling of deflation when our hopes for them are not fulfilled and we cannot help but wonder what the present crop of lads think when we constantly restock from outside rather than promote from within.

Being second choice to Kun is always going to be problematic. I get the feeling (maybe wrong) that Nacho was happy at the opportunities he was presented and always strived to do his best. I suspect, if he is now unhappy (again, I may be wrong), it could be because Kun was still getting the nod over him whilst in poor form.

As I said though, being second to Kun (for anyone) will always be problematic

The difference being that Kelechi could end up being world class :(. The saddest part is that he's overachieved lofty expectations and seemingly has done absolutely nothing wrong and STILL couldn't make it here. Crazy to think of. Obviously we're making some leaps to judgement on what's going on but I think it's definitely plausible that he isn't around next year.

If we do allow him to leave, I think we should do what Madrid did you with morata, low fee, with a low buy-back clause, none of this loan crap while allowing his contract to run down. sell him to a decent Spanish/Italian/German club for say £15m with a buy back for say £25m that stands for a few years. I think players develop better this way than a loan deal

Which is why it will be much easier for Jesus, anybody playing second striker to Segio needs to be able to play alongside him as well as a wide player. The only way Barca keep their three happy is because they can all play anywhere along a front three. Unless Kelechi shows he can play wide effectively then I dont see him staying with us. I've seen people suggest he can play as a 10 , but we are pretty well stocked in that position.

He can play alongside Aguero when given the opportunity. As for playing wide we have never tried him there. My fear is that if he doesn't get the playing time and doesn't get moved on to a good club that his talent can be wasted. Also if he does go to another good club that he shines there and it becomes a Pogba, KDB or Sturridge situation. I see that there are a lot of people that don't rate him here but he will improve. He won't improve on the benchanting though.

Can't think of many 20 year old strikers in the world better than Iheanacho.

Aguero is the best striker in the country, but he's 28. Iheanacho & Jesus are the future.

A loan spell when Jesus arrives wouldn't be the worst idea, granted it's the right club and that's very important, but selling Iheanacho shouldn't even be considered. He's been great for us so far, when you consider his age and experience.

Exactly. For his age I can't think of many if any are better. If you loan him to the wrong club then he becomes a flop and that is bad for the player. The problem is too many people on this forum are already writing him off.

Dont think anybody doesnt rate him, but its hard to see how he gets enough games over the next 18 months to improve. We wont play 2 up front, we have Sterling, Sane, Norlito, Navas to play wide, and Jesus to come. The problem is an 18 month loan would be good for us and for him. But leaves us short of a striker to cover Sergio unless we trust Jesus to be able to step in. Its a trick balance to get right.

I don't think people are writing him off, simply commenting that whilst Kun is at the club, his opportunities are going to be limited. Also, with Pep not selecting him whilst Kun was out of form tells it's own story, but that isn't fans writing him off.

He'll get a start v Celtic and it's an opportunity for him to play his way into the starting XI against Leicester.
Yeah, that Celtic game comes in a great moment as both Sane and Kelechi will have a realistic chance to sort of change their luck/malaise. They will hardly win their place in the starting eleven in this one (almost meaningless) game, but at least make Pep think about his selections twice.

Was poor today give the ball back to Chelsea alot for the short time he was on the pitch. Think he was just too eager to make something happen.
