Kelechi Iheanacho

he's been deleted off wiki again by some know-nowt or other because allegedly he lacks notability

it's likely a sad rag or similar

Ran across a little blurb in the 9/23 local Columbus newspaper:

Berhalter said seventeen-year-old Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho, who is training with the Crew until mid-October, has been impressive.

“He’s quality,” Berhalter said. “He has an ability to score goals and make it look easy. He has a very good left foot, very good 1v1 and the most important thing is he has a real determination to score.

“He’s a handful. He gives guys problems.”

In fairness, Wikipedia's guidelines on notability for players are quite clear: if they have played in a competitive game in a professional competition, they can have an article. Iheanacho has not done this.

Not much.......

your own position on the great wiki deletionist/inclusionist divide seems to be quite clear too ;-)

Actually I'm an inclusionist and would love for the article to be kept. I've simply been around Wikipedia long enough to know which battles can be won and which cannot, and you never win an argument over a footballer being notable if they haven't played a competitive professional game. It's an argument I've been involved in or watched plenty of times. In some areas the guidelines on notability are porous, in some areas they are strict. For footballers they are very black and white.
