Not sure if overawed is the word, he made good and calm decisions when he got the ball, probably just doesn't have the experience and know how yet to really affect a game at that level. Consider that he was mainly operating basically in the middle of 5 Real Madrid players, Pepe, Ramos, Modric, Kroos and Casemiro. Tbf this forum by and large have been saying he's not had enough minutes and that he's been ignored for Bony so not surprising there's an article saying similar.

I don't know if you've read the article as it actually rubbish the claims about ignoring his celebrations noting that most of his goals were not the winners and that players don't tend to celebrate 3_0 or 4:0 goals like winners, first goals etc.

It also claims that is logical that in tense tie like the one against Madrid, players tend to pick more trustful options of senior players and that Nacho was pretty lost in that game which I agree, it was too big occasion for him.

Basically it concludes that he wasn't ignored, just understandably struggled to make an impact & that it was a bit of a strange decision to bring him on as a replacement for Silva anyway.
