Kevin De Bruyne - 2016/17 performances

Don't know what's wrong with him but this season he's been well off the boil. Seemed to have more of a free role under Pellegrini
 
The more i look at KDB the more I see him as our new Yaya both technically brilliant both can score goals both very important players. Now it seems that both only play when they want to play. KDB is getting to the stage were he thinks he is undropable and can play to whatever standard and he will always be picked in Peps team. Yet this season KDB has been a big disapointment for me. He should of kicked on again after a great first season but he hasnt. The last few weeks his form has dropped off from the edge of a cliff.

Maybe i am being harsh on KDB. I rate him highly but he aint showing much to Pep I wouldnt be shocked if PEP is looking at him and he will be the next player to get the kick up the arse and be dropped for a few games. IF Gundogan wasnt injured he be out of the team already with Yaya taking his position. Also I dont think he is a Pep player.
 
Perhaps he has played too much this season and requires a break; perhaps he's carrying an injury. With Gundogan injured, we simply don't have players that Guardiola rates as good enough to replace de Bruyne. However, from what we've seen before, the worry about running players into the ground like this is that it has a knock on effect in followings seasons.
 
He was a disgrace yesterday.

Lots of players played badly, however Kev just looked like he didn't give a shit - hard to fathom how a player as good as him can play with such disregard.
 
You can count on one hand the amount of good games he's had this season. I think he's really lacking on the fitness side of things and not to the point where if he gets fitter he'll be fine, I think this is as fit as he'll ever get. Hes just not an athlete. But that still doesn't detract from how terrible his passing has been. He's been dreadful of late! If Navas, Clichy or any of the other fan's favourite player to slag off had put in some of the performances Kevin de Bruyne has this season there'd be thirty pages in their threads slagging them off. I think he's been extremely poor! Shouldn't be in this team at the moment

Seems like Yaya wants to play every week then because since he's been back in the side he's been excellent
 
Looks like a golfer whose swing and putting have gone at the same time. For weeks now he's been looking desperate and, when he would be better keeping it simple and take the easy pass that is on, he's been trying to play the Hollywood ball. Those rarely come off, and the exacerbation on his face, and those in the crowd, becomes greater.

The whole team were massively unfit under the last manager and it affected Yaya the most. It wasn't that he was choosing to play like he did, he couldn't keep up with play.
 
I am so disappointed in Kev. What the fuck is wrong with the guy? Both his attitude and his technical competence were so poor last night. No intensity, no press, lost every one on one challenge he had. let players run by him. Gave the ball away as much as he found a player. We all know he practices free kicks constantly, I think his wife would have done a better job with them yesterday. Some weeks on the bench until he gets his mentality right.
 
There is clearly something not right with Kev at the moment but anyone questioning his attitude and desire need to give their head a wobble, the guy is a model professional.

What I want to know is why he was played as a defensive midfielder for most of last night.

Did you watch him. Did you see the lack of press, losing all the 50/50 challenges, not tracking runs, letting players run past him. Doesn't matter where he is picked, there are certain basics that we should expect. I think there is something wrong. He is not the player we all know he is just now.
