Khaldoon interview

The now traditional annual review is always something to look forward to and he delivers. Again.

Such a charismatic man and totally believable.

Only small point for me is that I noticed 2 or 3 times his full answer was edited out and would have liked to hear the full reply.

a leader should never be judged by how well spoken he might be, but by his ability to get things done.

Wish you'd mentioned that before the 1997 election.
Because the nation missed a golden opportunity to retain John Major?
History has judged John Major very harshly. Mind you, he didn't help his own case with Edwina...

Listening to Khaldoon year after year makes me realize how lucky we are to have Sheik Mansour taking over our club and installing this man as our chairman. If we would forget the birthday of any of these two, and they would threaten to leave for this, I WOULD be worried.

He was placed in an impossible situation. Also, for me, he represents the wing of the Tory party that I can just about tolerate. Funnily enough, even though he was a pretty ineffectual PM (for reasons of circumstance as much as ability) I look upon his period in office with some fondness, as the early and mid nineties were such a fantastic time for me, personally and professionally.

As to Edwina, I agree.

I loved his response to the question on FFP, succinct and really shows up UEFA for what they really are.

I do love him as a Chairman but someone needs to coach him on eradicating the endless 'erms' and 'ums'

I think you should change your name from bellsouth to bellend

He speaks better English than most people on here!

Haha - was just about to say he's spelt "end" incorrectly!

Look when you can speak a second language fluently you can come back and make your petty observations but until then give it a rest eh?

These guys are business geniuses. you only have to look through the many other commercial activities they are and have been involved in around this planet to see that it is all based on long term visions and formulas that are impossible to fail or break - however hard UEFA and the establishment tries. UEFA is run by a bunch of ex-pro footballers and establishment types that have a view of the world that is based on the past with no clue about the future. They run their organisation for 'now' and what they can get out of it by way of status and in their back pocket.

Our owners don't have a concept of anything unless it involves transforming it beyond their own lifetimes. Khaldoon clearly quoted the massive expansion of the entire business on all levels - huge investment, huge increase on personnel, a life time and beyond of vision (already looking forward to giving the same interview in 6 years time!!) and most importantly for us, confirmation that they are going no where, much to the annoyance of the likes of UEFA and all the fucking stuffed shirts and execs around the football world and will keep pushing its mantra about long term visions.

UEFA will never admit it, but they will be - and are - hugely embarrassed by seeing what this model has actually achieved. It belies their belief that everyone has to tread water and must keep their place in the pecking order. Their motto should be 'WE SHALL NOT BE MOVED'. But there is a total lack of understanding and long term vision and is full and total exposure of their incompetence, short signed views and belligerent attitude to what is clearly proven to be correct. If we break even this year and go into profit next year and continue to grow in all areas as our owners predict, they UEFA will be licking their wounds for decades to come.

As it turns out, over the next few years, it looks like City will have the best of every aspect of football - consistency and sustainability on every level along with the best youth facility in Europe and the world. That is itself will piss of UEFA no end that this facility has ended up in Eastlands.

This is not about 11 players on the pitch. It is not about Tevez and his tantrums, Yaya and his agent feeling dissed because the Sheik did not personally congratulate him on getting to his 31st birthday, Balotelli and his incessant need to be in the media every second of the day. Let everyone else rattle their cages with jealously, anger and frustration at what is happening at our club. Let Wenger, the swamp donkeys and virtually every other manager and executive across the football world mouth off about what they think City should or should not be. Fuck em all. This is about how all of these so called top clubs would actually really like to be - given the chance. I fucking love it and can't wait for the start of the next season and every season.
