kick off times

Not sure about in England, but in Northern Ireland it was 2.30 just after the clocks changed and then 2.15 during November December January and then back to 2.30 before the clocks changed again, though as it gets darker in England (especially the south) earlier, I would imagine it would have been earlier.
I used to enjoy getting back to my dads car on the way back from an away game and being able to listen to the commentary from a division 1 game (no premier league and championship nonsense back then, just Divisions 1 - 4).

As to who gains the advantage in the variable kick-off times, surely that depends on how the team around you has done, Liverpool lose today and the sense of belief amongst our fans will rocket before our kick-off, liverpool win and it will be more subdued imho.

I can remember being at school (St Edwards in the Kippax Car Park) when an fA Cup Match replay was being played and prior to Maine Roads Bigger floodlights. Must have been a 2pm KO because we were let out early. Straight out of school and straight under the turnstiles and into the Kippax. Now that's what you call an education.
Was it Plymouth Argyle in a cup replay? Think it was held at that time of day because of the risk of power cuts.
Sounds like a decent shout but sadly my memory not up to the detail. Young, thin and active in those days. Today just old but hoping for the right set of results today.

That would have been around '73/'74 time; I'd have been 11 or 12.

Think I am going back to about 63 when 8ish - but as I say the memory plays some tricks. I can recall being relegated that year and it still hurts!

Please don't moan about kick off times.. Premiership would be so dull if it was all 3 o clock Saturday games.. Love super Sundays, the odd Monday night game... Early kick off etc...far better

And part of the SSNakes 'philosophy' is to make sure that their Old Top Four have every advantage.
United Villa Norwich and Blackburn?

Agreed. And for overseas fans if all matches kicked off at 3 pm, that would mean only ever being able to watch Manchester United on the TV, (except if you're in the states). Yes there are streams but those are mostly quite dodgy and many people don't have a fast enough internet connection. The status quo is much better for promoting the Premier League as a global brand.

I think there's a thread about it in the history section.

Paul Power scored a goal, I doubt to this day he can believe he scored. Picked it up off Corrigan just outside the box and just kept going and going.
