Kiev home ticket sales

Incredible post for all the wrong reasons, incredible that you will have sorrow in you for you own team to get to a champions league final. It's the type of thing that a Manchester United or Liverpool fan would say.
As I say incredible don't have many words to say. Aye Rotherham over Barcelona ok then !
Sorrow that I'll not be part of it.

Point being I won't be suddenly banging drums wanting a ticket like some do.

And don't ever suggest I have a raggy or dipper mindset!!!!!

£50 plus VAT is £60. London branch can offer return fares for around £30. Besides, the earliest the train gets back in to Euston is gone midnight and the tubes have finished by then. Nightbusagogo? £60 return fare is too high. Far too high.

Does seem a bit high. Obviously the main advantage for London blues is being able to get back after the games but not sure why it needs to be a return trip, is easy to sort out cheap singles up to mcr especially with the discount we now get on virgin trains. Although while it is easy to get cheap trains mid afternoon if this train leaves euston at say 4.30pm (allowing people to work most of the day) this would normally cost a lot as would be 'peak time'.
You wonder who they are aiming it at though when a long term seasoncard holder who has ended up living in London will have learnt to plan ahead to get cheapest train tickets as they are attending most if not all home games and may baulk at this price whereas a new cockney blue who just fancies coming to the odd game may be more likely to pay it as is not a regular fortnightly expense for them...

don't think it's outrageous but at 50 pound I think they would get more take up

Would not suggest you had a dippers or raggy mindset, only that you sound like one.
At least with your conviction you will not be tuning into a tv set like some.

I'd agree that those taking pictures of themselves etc are complete bellends. It was particularly prominent at the Barcelona game last season. I'd like to distance myself from those with my earlier comments. Quite saddening so many seem to be desperate to prove they were there with a picture rather than just have the memory of actually being there. I'll remember that game for a long time, I don't need a picture to prove it happened.

I go because City are local, and I like them. Club are going good thing in the area in which I live and almost every fan I've chatted with/sat next to are sound, decent people (so far!)

I go to every game that's affordable and I can get to. So yeah, I was there against 'lowly' opposition in the cups, I was there on Saturday v Villa, and I'll be at every home game between now and the end of the season if I can make it, be it Real Madrid or Rotherham... Just like every season since I moved to Manchester. I never had any affinity to City before moving here to be honest, just another team in the Premier League. Spending almost every Saturday at the Etihad or CFA now though, they've certainly developed a place in my heart, and whilst not bouncing around the South Stand or starting chants, whatever, I'll always be wanting them to win.

I'd imagine there's great many in a similar situation.

Colour me "plastic" or "day tripper"... colour me "fan"... Really couldn't give a bollocks. Having grown up supporting another side who will never each the Champions League, nights like Kiev feel special and something of interest to witness, and I haven't even been through the tumultuous times a life long City fan of my age (early 30's) will have done.

I'll be disappointed that the ground won't be atmospheric or full on Tuesday night by the looks of it, It's a shame that some have a negative mindset regard prices, other fans and the competition, or indeed the current direction the club is going in, on and off the field. I expect the 'newbies', 'tourists',' day trippers' etc. will have an enjoyable night (hopefully..!), whilst sat in a 'regular fans' seat, and will be cheering City into the next round, and the last eight of the competition, accompanied of course by some regulars.
But how many fans will be scrabbling around for tickets for the semi's or final should that materialise..?, how many fans will be bemoaning the fact that they don't have enough loyalty points to purchase the said tickets...?
It's funny how cost, loyalty points, day trippers, bla, bla, bla, is suddenly forgotten when needs must. I don't understand the mentality..?!
After nearly forty years a season ticket holder, I will die a happy man, my club has been turned on it's head by its current owners, in every fathomable way, all for the good, the ground, facilities, infrastructure, squad, team, manager, trophies, future growth and security.
What is there not to get excited, or dare I say it, passionate about, reading some of our posts makes me want to wobble every buggers head, either come and have a shout for the team, or let the newbies get on with cultivating their knowledge and passion for my great club, without criticism, we all went to out first game don't forget, look up the definition of fan or supporter...!

Doesn't the fact that the ground won't be atmospheric or full suggest that those being "negative" might have a point? Yes it's incredible how far we've come in such a short time and we've a lot to be thankful for but not everything in the garden is rosy. The club could have quite easily have ensured the ground was full but chose not to take that opportunity.

It's a good deal Jess. Especially with some ex players on board to add to the entertainment. Travel and ticket for £100 is less than I will be spending for Norwich!

I wonder if this is really aimed at the growing number of people who have fallen for the glamour of the Champs League and their team of choice might well be Barca - but that's a bit far to go for them!

Yes less than I'll be spending for Bournemouth and Swansea too but then you don't have to go there every week or two. Think there are a lot of fans who only go to home games so just think this would be quite a bit extra to find.
And away trips will be cheaper next season with the cap coming in thank god, although maybe for Some the money saved on the match ticket will go straight into the pub budget!

I suppose the test will be if the special train is just a one off or if city go ahead and offer it every midweek game...and depends on who the past players are- if it's danny mills and Steve mcmanaman then everyone would be pressing the emergency exit button before they got as far as Watford. Although at least mcmanaman could point the way to the emergency exits!

Haha! Danny and Steve could have been traffic wardens!
