I know you do;)

My statement was with regards the British press making up quotes.

They don't. They have ripped off the magazine article and once in the public domain, Toure has to go to the originator.

I don't believe Kolo on this one. He has been agitating for weeks since we fined him six weeks.

He also spoke recently about wanting to join PSG.

Even if he spoke 'off the record' he should know better if he did not trust the interviewer.

It's an open secret in Paris that he desperately wants to come here. He will start every week and will probably be a huge asset to them as Sakho is still a bit of a liability and Lugano has been hit and miss. He'd bring the kind of experience they desperately need.

I really don't understand what all the fuss is about. We don't need him, and it's clear that Mancini doesn't see him as being a regular starter - plus Paris have big money so we'll get a decent fee for him. Good move all round.

I bet you anything he made the Savic comment off the record... players say shit like that all the time as you well know!

Amen, brother!

Kolo is not some wet-behind-the-ears apprentice, he gave himself a fall-back position by possibly saying something off-the-record.

He's a liability that we can still get good money for. If he can get a move to Paris, good luck to him and us!

On the subject of PSG, they seem happy to buy sub-standard at this time, aside from Pastore?

Is Paris all a flutter?

I Don't Believe this??

Or is it normal to believe everything we read in newspapers now?

until I see Video evidence of Kolo actually saying this then it is Sensationalism.

Price and the date Steve, price and the date.

i know they may have said "discriminate" but c`mon out of context as such. it s not a racist angle we are talking about, it s the fact that key "african" players will vanish (to compete in ACON) during the most important part of the season **right about now to end of Jan`.

if he s wrong .... how many africans were bought in the last two years by top clubs?
ans: sweet f.a.

it s a hindrance and he is right, but that is my opinion!
i love kolo!!!!!
ACON needs to be changed i blame the governing football bodies for this...no one else!!!

The ACON has changed its on summer of 2013 and then becomes a summer tournament, still every 2 years though

Kolo = clown though so really dont care what he does but 120k a week reserve defender is very pointless

ACON have every right to decide when is best for "Their" tournament, after all who can point fingers when FIFA have selected Qatar in the peak heat of summer and UEFA keep giving the tournament to two countries.
Yes I'm out of my mind on pain killers, now where's that chain saw?

Im sorry mate but where did i say they had no right to?? Its obviously for the best interest of the players. Just means they play in the winter now which is probably more preferable

oh yaya, whats my name, what my name(O:

I wouldn't underestimate what effect this will have on the phantom menace, he's here for him first and foremost, this is the only reason city are treading carefully so not to upset the man!

They're in the "Mark Hughes" phase of their project. Karamboue is a dead man walking - he knows it and the squad knows it. Leonardo wants a manager who can entice better players - Benitez will no doubt be able to do that.

I think they've got some decent players there, and have bought some decent ones too. They'll certainly qualify for the CL this season, and should really be winning the league. If Benitez gets confirmed pre Jan 1st - expect PSG to be the big spenders in Europe during the transfer window.

A famous baconface quote "No player is bigger than the club." Well, many of our players think they are. That's the difference in a nutshell.
So right. To ensure it is so, with the kind of squad we have today, is why we need a world-class manager - a leader. You have impressed me so far, Manchini. Time to step up again.

A very good point. How often do you hear rag players mouthing off to the media? The swamp (quite rightly) does not tolerate this kind of behavior. All the players understand that and they know the consequences if they cross the line. So by and large they keep their thoughts to themselves. When they do occasionally transgress, they are more often than not moved on, i.e. sacked.

Most of the interview is just delusional. He seems to have completely forgotten the part his drugs ban played in the loss of his starting place.

But his comments about Savic are totally out of order
They are out of order and at the same time true

That makes them worse! Savic is a young player developing his game. The last thing he needs is a senior player at the club slagging him off to the press.

I think De Jong made some critical comments about Mario at the start of the season. But those comments were clearly made with Mario's best interests at heart. These comments, assuming they are true, are completely self serving.

Hey up. I'm not completely fluent in French but I read it well enough to translate the below. This is from the France Football website. There's no mention of the 'discrimination against African players' or the Savic comments, so I dunno where that's from. Maybe, as someone said, they quoted something he said off the record (his remarks about Savic's game against QPR, after all, were completely accurate....)

At 30 years old, Kolo is going through a difficult period. Suspended 6 months for doping, the City defender has played very little since his return on 2nd September. For France football he does an exclusive interview blah blah

Kolo, you were suspended 6 months for taking slimming thingy considered as a doping agent. How did you get through this period?
That was a very difficult period for me. It came down on my head, I wasn't expecting it at all. Fortunately, in the 6 months, I could train 5 months with my club. This period permitted me to reinforce myself, physically and mentally. I came out of it stronger.

Did you feel supported during this period?
I felt supported by everybody; my family, my close friends, my club, my national team and even my country. That helped me a lot

How do you explain that your club gave you an extra fine (6 weeks salary) 2 months after your return?
That's something that surprised me. It was difficult for me, but then the people from the club explained very well to me the reasons. I accepted to draw a line under the story and start playing again. I'm 30, I'm at the best moment of my career, and I want to show certain people that I'm still hungry and that they are wrong about me.

Your suspension finished the 2nd september but you've played very little since then (26 minutes total in the league.) For you, the former captain, that must be difficult to take.
It's a delicate situation for me, and I I know it's going to be difficult to get my place back, since the team is playing well and getting good results. But I'm patient, and the African Cup of Nations is coming (21 jan to 12 feb). The important thing for me is to stay fit, and if the manager needs my services, I'll be ready to respond. If not, I'll be ready for the African CN. I'm staying positive, I know my qualities and I'm working as hard as possible to be stronger.

Is a departure in the winter transfer market conceivable?
Not at the moment. It's difficult to think about that when you're at a club like City. But, in footy, everything can go very fast, one never knows. And then I think he says something like it depends how much I play from now til the window.

Would you be interested in signing for PSG if they got in touch?
Again, it all depends on how much I'm going to play here. I want to play, and if that doesn't happen for me I'll definitely have to ask questions. Today, PSG is a big club, like City Arsenal or Milan, which wants to become one of the best in the world and has invested in big players. That's not nothing. I don't know any player who would refuse PSG.

[then some stuff about ivory coast I can't be bothered to translate]

What's your take on City's start this season?
We've had a massive start to the season. At the moment the strength of City is its attack. City are extremely strong in attack. There are super attackers, but also very technical midfielders and solid defenders. It's solid.

On the other hand it's harder in the Champs league innit?
That's another competition. There are only quality teams, who are tactically strong. Napoli have notably caused us a fair few problems. You need a lot of experience, every error is very expensive. This has been our problem since the beginning.

City's objective this season is therefore the league?
Certainly. We've started well but it's important to stay humble and to concentrate, because the hardest part is just beginning now.

To finish, a little word on the Tevez affair.
It's unfortunate that he's no longer in the line up, for him and for City. He would still be able to bring us a lot, but the manager makes his choices. It seems there's no solution to that situation.

Part of the problem is the way we have bought players and also some of Mark Hughes frankly bizarre signings. He signed some corkers, like Zabba, VK & NDJ but also some real dross like Bridge & RSC.

Some of those signings have now dropped completely off the radar as far as the 1st team are concerned. Whilst some just get on with it and are (rarely) giving interviews, e.g. RSC lately, others still seem to think they are the star signings similar to when they arrived, Kolo, Adebayor etc.

I don't think City are doing anything particularly wrong, in response to Billy, players will always drop out of favour or be replaced by better players. Where the issue is becomes when they, for some reason, think they are still the star we signed and hence the poor interviews. Kolo is now 3rd choice CB and doesn't look like he can dislodge Lescott and he's basically not happy.

Very few players give crap interviews when the team is winning all over the place and they are getting regular games.
