Kolo Toure leaving?

Can we still sing "Kolo, kolo kolo, kolo kolo, kolo kolo, kolo, kolo Toure, Yaya, Yaya yaya.."

IMO why not, might just let his brother know we still care for Kolo as well as him. :-)

Kolo Toure's advisor has dismissed reports that the Manchester City man is close to a move to Turkish side Bursaspor.

Bursaspor claimed they were in advanced talks with Toure over a potential move for the Ivory Coast international.

Toure's future at City has been the subject of speculation with the 31-year-old failing to hold down a regular place in Roberto Mancini's starting XI after being forced to spend six months on the sidelines following a failed drugs test.

However, Toure's advisor, Saif Rubie, insists talk of an imminent move for the former Arsenal man is wide of the mark and that the defender is focused on pre-season with reigning champions City.

"I am aware of interest from Turkey in Kolo, but talk of a move being close is very much wide of the mark," Rubie told Sky Sports.

"Kolo's only focus at the moment is on pre-season with Manchester City and he wants to continue the good work he has done with his brother Yaya at Manchester City.

"Naturally there is a lot of interest in a top player like Kolo, but there is nothing definite at the minute and he is only thinking about next season."

Not like them to jump the gun on a story! ;)

Like the guy, hope he stays.

He either signs a 12 month contract extension or he must go

Agree with you though like the guy and hope he stays subject to above

Sounds like a better move for him:

Fenerbahçe have expressed keen interest in Manchester City defender Kolo Toure and are preparing an attractive offer following talks with Everton over Joseph Yobo breaking down.

The Istanbul club has been unable to reach an agreed transfer fee with Everton over Yobo despite the Nigerian international's request to make his loan move permanent.

Manager Aykut Kocaman, told reporters in today's press conference that his transfer priority is the signing an additional defender.

Fenerbahçe have been monitoring developments between Bursaspor and their ambitions to sign the Man City defender carefully.

Bursaspor were reported to have agreed to a €3.5 million deal with Manchester City and personal terms with Kolo Toure which would see him make €2.5 million per-season.

However, Toure's agent, Saif Rubie told Sky Sports, "I am aware of interest from Turkey in Kolo, but talk of a move being close is very much wide of the mark."

Fenerbahçe hope to lure Toure with the prospect of first team and Champions League football. The Yellow Canaries have the financial muscle to offer the Ivory Coast defender a substantially increased wage packet than the offer being put forward by Bursaspor.

The 31-year-old experienced defender has a year left on his contract, City are unlikely to renew terms unless he accepts a wage cut and a reduced role in the team.

Toure has struggled for first-team opportunities this season, only getting eight Premiership starts and featuring in 22 matches in all competitions.

Fenerbahçe finished the league campaign as runners-up last season and also lifted the Turkish Cup. The Yellow Canaries will be playing Champions League football this season.

Was past his best when we signed him,Wenger played a blinder to get 16m......

I certainly wont miss his flapping, looking forward to his replacement.

Re: kolo toure

If he goes you can't really blame him , his chances here now appear slimmer than they've ever been .....

i just hope Yaya doesn't miss him too much!

THIS! Can´t people want him around so they can sing a song about him and Yaya.....He should perform better for 90k a week, Rekik at 17 is a better player then Kolo.

He's done well for us. A good buy

Why didn't we go for Vertonghen? He would have provided great cover in CB and CDM. He could have created a very solid partnership with Vinny for at least 5 years.
This would let Kolo and Lescott mentor Vertonghen while Savic is on loan and let remove the pressure on Boyata.

I feel that this is the one transfer we shouldn't have let slip; not Hazard, Silva etc.

Honestly I sometimes despair, Kolo was and has been a good player for city, if he leaves than good luck to him..... I personally think he still has something to offer to us and with Yaya he is an integral part of our team and good cover of CB & RB, personally i would like him to stay.

8m would have been a good buy as he was very much on the decline at Arsenal,he's a player our rapid improvement soon outgrew. On the plus side, his arrival was certainly a huge factor in us obtaining Yaya and also his experience,i'd wage, has been invaluable.

At Arsenal - just about world class. At City when we bought him -very good, at this moment - could still do an excellent job as third or fourth choice.

If he goes, I would wish him well.

We obviously have someone considered better on the radar.

Maybe so, but if that is Javi Martinez, that's at least £16 million extra, if he even wants to leave.

Players rarely come out and say they want to leave they lose their loyalty bonus.
