Toure`s a great signing and will be a huge asset to our squad. If we do get lescott aswell then we`ll be laughing,I still think Dunney has to stay though .

Definately, even if he's on the bench every week or even in the reserves some weeks - look at Portsmouths Linvoy Primus, he was their best defender when they first came up to the Prem and they bought in better quality and he could have gone to play for another club maybe in the Championship but he stayed! and did you see the reception he got from the Pompey fans when he came on as a sub in the last game of the season? i bet Dunney would love that kind of reception, and he can fill in for any injuries/suspensions/African Cup of Nations or play in the Cup games and still enjoy his football and be club captain!

As for Toure, he's got a big season ahead of him! his form over the last 2 years has been mixed for Arsenal! been in and out of the team playing in runs of games (dont forget Arsenal play at least 50 games a season every season and i think Toure has only played in 3/4's of them!) But he's a City player now, he's not at Arsenal and its a fresh start! all old form goes out of the window as everythings different - i hope he does well and gets his form back from his early Arsenal career!

What a load of old bollocks. In and out of the team my arse ????

He has played 225 league games and 65 champions league games in the past 7 seasons. That figure is as good as any other central defender in the country. Do a quick search on the likes of Terry etc if you dont believe me.

People are deluded comparing Dunne Kompany and Neddy to Toure. 65 champions league games FFS !!!

Calm and confident on the ball, pretty good distribution, and great attitude. An asset all-round. But think he needs to be twinned with a "stopper". So him and Ned or Lescott would work, but probably him and Vinnie wouldn't.

Toure will be a much better player for us than Terry could ever have been.

I never wanted Terry (see my posts on the thread). Could see what he was up to.

Plus he is a shite.

Good footballer but a complete shite.

Toure is more my cup of tea.

Doesn't seem to be many Arsenal fans bothered about him going.

Just been reading their forums, they all wish him well and say he was a great guy but aren't bothered too much about losing him as a defender. Hmmmmmmm

I hope you realise that what I said via texts about Toon is correct.

if Dunne were to leave a lot of people wouldn't be bothered but I know he could and probably would perform at his new club.

You've certainly got some balls to admit you know little about Kolo Toure. A player who has played over 200 times for Asrenal (You know them?). He's won the League and 2 FA Cups at Arsenal, and played in the Champions League Final

You can't seriously be suggesting that

1. People must know all about football to contribute to an MCFC message board &
2. Everyone should know everything about every player i thier domestic league?

People are here because they support City first, not to become a 'Footballing Egghead'
No I am not suggesting that, but I am suggesting that the 99% of football fans will know something about Kolo Toure.

Notice the use of him.

If I don't know the smallest details of one specific player's game, who (until a few hours ago) played for another club then (in you moronic opinion) that means that I "don't know much about football"?

Fuck off.

I'd like to think my quest to learn more about a new signing by raising a few interesting questions, have added more to the forum than you have with that pathetic little swipe.

My knowledge of football is akin to my penis - must larger and wider than yours.

Jesus Christ. (sorry Brucie)

Here we go...

Now as you've probably already noticed (which is why you're incessantly probing me) I'm not completely oblivious to Toure or his game.

My previous posts were an attempt at creating a debate without having the resident idiots jumping on my back for failing to agree with the law abiding majority. (Intolerant wankers)

Toure is relatively short, lacks presence, has just come off the back of a poor season and isn't getting any younger...

And then there's always the quoted price tag of £16m.

Of course he'll add to the squad, but the first team?

I'm not convinced.

Now like I said before I don't know him inside out - I may have exaggerated a little, but that is the truth.

Which is why (with a few doubts I held, and the lack of complete knowledge on his game) I decided to pose a few questions under a thinly veiled guise to gauge other blues opinions, and to avoid this - I clearly failed.

Happy now?

Come on then, have a pop - you know you want to.
