I can honestly say I have no more affiliation with John Terry than I do with Kolo Toure. If they're not a City fan, they're a foreigner in footballing terms, no matter where they come from. An Ivorian is about as relevant to our footballing heritage as a dyed-in-the-wool Cockney. I couldn't give a shit where they come from.

Its not about footballing heritage. It's about understanding what the manager is telling you to do, and gelling with the rest of the team.

It's about understanding what Given means when he shouts man on.

etc.

Have you ever listened to toure give an interview mate. FFS he can speak perfect english

Re: toure agrees city move (merged)

To answer some Personal Messages I recieved as they are too many to reply to, As we are now looking through the BMI for Kolo Toure I would imagine we will complete that by around lunchtime tomorrow, that does not mean there will be a medical as the BMI that we do is purely for advice, is the player worth what we are going to pay kind of thing.

Are you serious? You're actually suggesting that foreign players can't understand English?

Wow.

No, actually, this must be a joke. We've all been Clarkied.

No english players ... are you serious ???

Hart,Taylor,Bridge,Micah,Nedum,Logan,Mee,Vidal,Barry,Johnson,SWP

added to british/irish players...

Given,Dunne,Ireland,Bellamy

plus academy...

Weiss,Etuhu,Mak,Nimely

I think in comparison to other squads we have plenty of "home" players to give thats british grit.

4 of the starting 11 in your huge list.

That leaves 7 foreigners.

Re: toure agrees city move (merged)

i think after 7 years in the premier league, toure will have grasped the phrase 'man on' by now.

We need a player or two to do that

Yeah what we need is more suspensions.

They don't get booked if they are clever at it do you ever watch a game?

Re: toure agrees city move (merged)

What is going on at Arsenal?

Where will Toure play? Central defence, or right back?

For me it was Dunne that was the player under threat, but Toure strikes me as a 2nd centre-back rather than the main stopper, because he's on the small side.

I'd be very pleased to see Toure in City's squad, but I think he'd have to play alongside a big centre-half which would have to be Kompany or Dunne

I'm a bit concerned that we will be able to start the season well with all these changes. I'd anticipated 3-4 changes in the Summer, but they've been wholesale. I know Sven pulled it off for the half of the season, but normally this many changes creates problems in the short term. The advantage is that the players we've signed know the Premiership.
