Kolo Toure [Merged]

I'm all for opinions but christ almighty what is wrong with some people on here? Before the lad has got over the thresh hold he's being slagged for not being good enough. Who is good enough for these people? You suggest Carvalho and they repsond with "he's too old and injury prone". 31 is not old so get a grip. The same people really wanted to see John Terry come despite the fact that he is also injury prone, only 2 years younger, £30 million more expensive and a worse footballer and defender than Carvalho. Anyway, back to Toure... I think he will be a good solid signing whoever he is partnered with in defence. So why don't some people take their headout of their arse and get a basic grasp and understanding of where we are at and where we are going. Oh and whilst they're at it get a bit of footballing knowledge and know how.

The amount of people on here that think that differences of opinion are a matter of one side having football knowledge and the opposing viewpoint having none is quite remarkable.

I guess it must make them feel more secure about themselves.

good call mate. hate to say we're starting to see some very spoiled people right now.

Read the last post, which I agree with as far as it goes... Haven't read the previous 30 odd pages, why would I?

Toure would be a great signing why not?

There is a huge difference between just watching the game and understanding it. As I said I like to hear others opinions but what I hear and read at times is based upon some folk not having an understanding of the game and how it is played.

I see where you are comming from but what are you meant to think when people say Toure was 3rd or 4th choice when hes been a rock at Arsenal for years playing 30 games plus every season. I cant take these sort of comments seriously plus they clearly fly in the face of the opinion and knowledge of actual Arsenal fans !

At times last season Toure was 3rd or 4th choice, not sure whether he would be a sure thing starter at Arsenal this season if he stays there.

He may have been a rock at Arsenal for years (and he was very good) but we need him to be quality for us now, not 3 years ago.

Well for starters AntMcfc is obviously a rag as I have said before . I have never seen him make an even slightly positive comment on this forum.

Then on the comments on Toure hes a regular for Arsenal and has been for years. Speak to any reasonable Arsenal fan and they will tell you Toure and Gallas was their best partnership in there - even though they hated each other they couldnt even be civilised enough to play together for 90 minutes. A couple of my mates from Uni are Arsenal fans and they gutted he is leaving and cant believe Wenger would let him go to their main rivals in the league.

Check out 606 most Arsenal fans are gutted he is leaving especially for £14 million.

Also I firmly believe Toure even sub par is as good as Alex at Chelsea and Skirtle at Liverpool. So thats 3 sides in the top for he would make the starting 11.

Get real hes a big improvement on what we currently have. We dont have a central defender anything like his quality at the club currently even with his drop in form.

Never read so much shyte in my life. I can guarantee I'm more of a fan than you, but the difference is I actually know my shit about football and don't live up in the clouds. I think we can get top 4 this season, but we need better players at the heart of our defence if we are to do it.

Well how can you gurantee it when you dont know me ? I have had a season ticket for years.

You talk complete shit mate. All I have to go off are your comments every single one is negative you dont sound like a city fan to me and I am not the first to say it.

As for Toure last season, Illness and loss of form plus he could not play with Gallas - the hated each other so much he put in a trasfer request lets see how he does shall we but like I said hes a much better players than any of our current central defenders no doubt about it.

At times last season Toure was 3rd or 4th choice, not sure whether he would be a sure thing starter at Arsenal this season if he stays there.

That does not seem to be the concensus amongst Arsenal fans..

Hang on a second, weren't you just saying we wouldn't finish top 6 this season ?

Its all about opinions, thats why we come on here is it not!? i could look at your mrs and think; "christ mate she's minging!" But you might think she's the best looking woman in the world! Everyone thinks differently to the same things, we all pick up on certain things that other people might not think of!

Im not saying Toure is a shit player, by no means! between 2003-2007 he was a fantastic player!

i personally think Arsenals defence is why they havent won anything in recent years! how does a team that keeps the ball so well and scores so many goals not win trophies!? well one because they are very young, two because they have no leaders, and three because their defence is not in balance with the quality of the rest of their team! i think they have a poor keeper, a left back who came through with a lot of promise but seems to have stood still in the last 2 years instead of continuing to improve (the new young lad who's name escapes me will take Clicheys place if he doesnt book up next season!), centre backs who wouldnt get in any of the other top 5 teams, a right back who is actually pretty good, and a defensive midfielder who is nowhere near good enough for a top 5 team!

Spot on Simon... all you negative numptys with your glass half full - stop fretting and give Toure some positive vibes. You might be surpised to find out that when the season starts, he actually is a very good defender and just what we the squad needs. So welcome him to the blue side of Manchester, just like we have done with our other signings.

You can't manage a team on the basis of what is best for Nedum Onouha's career, you do it on what is best for the club.

Onouha played plenty of games last season, and if he's good enough to take the chances he will undoubtedly get. You don't need to worry about him.

Look at Stevie Ireland this time last year. No one expected him to be at the centre of our team last season, but he was. If you work hard, and are good enough, the message is you'll get picked above reputations. Nedum has already shown everyone at City what he can do.

understand what you are saying and don't disagree.

in my ideal world considering we get Toure and Lescott then my starting back 4 at Blackburn would be....

Toure.......Ned........Lescott.......Bridge

i just don't expect Hughes to have the same opinion as me.

Think you're right and Hughes won't have the same opinion as you. I think Ned will be on the bench and Micah will be right back. Have to say, I agree with Hughes on this one.

Richards--Toure--Lescott(or Upson)--Bridge

Defensive subs : Nedum, Zabs.

That will be our prefered defensive line up come start of the season IMO and I agree with it.

If I wanted to join a cheerleaders forum I would.

I'll continue to offer my opinion, positive and negative vibes on a message board count for fuck all.

Agree. I'm seeing so many posts where Lescott is at left back or Ned/Toure is at right back. Injuries permitting it's just not going to happen.
