Huge blow if he is out, but it's idiotic to blame Richards, or Pellegrini for practicing set pieces the day before. It's just an unfortunate accident.

No it's not.

There's absolutely no need to practice high impact training/set pieces the day before a match, regardless if it was an accident or not. Once Firday's practice sessions were over, it should have been left at that.

Light training, stretching, and go through tactics again. Job done. Then off to Liverpool.

It was idiotic to do what they did this Morning, on the eve of the most important game of the season so far.

Re: Kompany Injured?

The media is just sensationalizing stuff before the big match. I am sure he will play tomorrow, I mean he has to. And yeah, privacy at Carrington is something that really needs to be looked at.

If he's only 50% fit tomorrow we should just give him a cortisone injection and get him out there. This game is the most important the other games we could probably get by without him but against Liverpool's attack we need him badly.

In response to this and earlier similar comment, absolutely ludicrous to suggest we stick anyone of our players to get then through a match (cortisone is a failed 80's method and it should remain there btw) we are talking about our players long term health and fitness here . If he's fit he plays, if he's not he doesn't , injuries are part of the sport and we have the squad to overcome them, tomorrow is our most important game this season so far and and desperately want a fit VK playing not someone full of painkillers who is liable to breakdown at anytime and suffer long term injury as a result !

Incredible comment!!

How is it that the press are allowed to take such photos of the training session before our biggest game? The privacy at Carrington is ridiculous.

it was the MEN.

I posted a link to their pictures. Shows how the incident happened

Richards just needs fucking off..sorry..what a knobber

TBH, the blame lies with Pellegrini.

Training, set pieces or not, one day before the match, City shouldn't be doing those high impact of training sessions. A light training session, and an overview of the tactics is enough.
Unmitigated bollocks. Why train at all? When's the cut off? A day before? Two days? Three? If an injury is to happen, it will happen and if someone goes out for a month then it makes no odds if it happened a day before or 5 days before.

So many people type without actually thinking in the first place. It's professional sport, injuries happen.

Up to now I hadn't realised we're a one-man team but it all becomes clear on this thread. Why risk Vinny tomorrow if he's only 50% fit, that would probably mean him missing the rest of the season.

Tomorrow IS the rest of the season. Liverpool are on a mission like we were with 5 games to go in 2012. We knew we had some tough games like rags away and newcastke away, but victory was in sight and we were locked on. Liverpool will win it unless we stop them tomorrow, I am convinced of it.

At last, sense.

Re: Kompany [Probably Not] Injured

not disputing de niro's info and thanks to him for posting it however if its thought about logically why would kompany travel to liverpool and now be receiving extensive treatment when hours earlyer he was probably at the best place in the country to receive the treatment it would have made sense to have treated him in manchester then if the doctor said he could play he would have traveld over in the morning, the fact that he has got on the bus would sugest he's got a very good chance of playing, my opinion just a minor knock or mind games

We'd already played the rags in Trafford at that stage. Understandable you might have missed it though; it was a fairly uneventful game!

Of course they happen, but they had all week to train. The team came through that week unscathed. Today should have been about light training, warm down, getting together, and going over tactics. Not having full impact training/set pieces session on the eve of the Liverpool match.

Fingers crossed Kompany makes it. If not, damage done.
