Kompany red card and appeal SUCCESSFUL

Bobby basically said that there would be an appeal and too right.

A joke of a decision from a poor ref that I would hope won't be a Prem ref next season.

Even if it's not overturned, we need to make a stand.

Are you serious? Mike Dean got every decision spot on apart from that one, most referees would not have the balls for that early red but it was the correct decision.

One of the few ref's who holds up that a foul in the box is the same as a foul anywhere else.

Re: Kompany red card and appeal

would rather see any city player getting stuck in rather than letting opposition player through

Best defender in the world. Best captain in the world. Best tackle in the world end of.

Any Blue, seeing that pic and still claiming it was a 2 footed, both feet in the air challenge need to get their arses to fucking specsavers!

I agree but there is another fixed frame from behind where when he goes in for the tackle both feet ARE of the ground

Show me any tackle in any game during which a player has always got at least 1 foot on the floor and i will be amazed.

Too much made of this both feet off the floor bollox now.

I know I totally agree but when assessed they will look at all angles and could deem it a red for Dangerous play

Honestly think that dean will say he got it wrong.

Time will tell.

Maybe we should appeal!

And there rests the case for the defence... M'lud.

Not really even a foul never mind a fucking red card FFS! What the hell is the game coming to?

Some absolute doormats on here saying we should accept it and move on. There's a fucking title to win. Do you think that **** in Tafford would accept it without question...?

No, I thought not.

Sorry for the language, but fuck me!

Agreed, very, very good ref. He made a mistake.

Great challenge and no intent on injuring the player, just trying to win the ball which he clearly did.

However, it was a two feet off the floor challenge so regardless of whether he won the ball or not, it would be still seen in the referee's eyes as a wreckless challenge (we all know it's a load a crap because it's a man's game etc but this is the way football is these days unfortunately).

If you look at the replay again and like Graeme Souness rightly said, it wasn't a two footed challenge where his two feet were in front of him, one was in front and the other was behind so is this wreckless, I don't know? but I would certainly appeal if I was Mancini although we do risk losing Vinnie for a further game if it isn't overturned.

Although technically yes, both feet were off the floor, I hardly think it was wreckless like a two footed "lunge" where the feet were off the floor and in front of the player, so maybe it's worth taking the risk of appealing?

like i said , looking at the games it's worth an appeal.

Re: Kompany red card and appeal

Be interesting to see if this pushes us into the transfer market for the right-footed defender we're inevitably going to sign because of Kolo's expiring contract.

From his angle you can see why he thought it was two footed, but when he sees the angle in the photo above I think he will have to accept that if he had this view of the challenge it wouldn't even have been a foul let alone a sending off.

Thought he a very good game in fairness.
