Thought demechelis and garcia were fucking brilliant today.

Agreed.

Think MOTD raised a fair point on how he stepped up after big Vin was sent off. He did seem to exude more control and confidence afterwards. Strange, but hopefully he will carry this authority into the Fulham game.

lol just seen the "gesture".

Embarassing that some are even mentioning it.

He would never get done for it even IF it was intentional. Which it wasn't

-- Sun Mar 16, 2014 12:02 am --

lol just seen the "gesture".

football is a contact sport - thought Vinny shown too much of the ball and Jelavic was stronger - after that its a straight red

Chelski were also moaning about a foul in the lead up to Villa's goal -

We won football is a contact sport and i for one don't want the prem turned into a Spanish La Liga or CL game where players are falling over knowing that they will get a foul from the ref

We done thought Silva was immense

Think it was a foul on him initially from Jelavic, but that's not really important now. It was a poor decision from Kompany to bring him down, and he paid the price. Thankfully it didn't cost us ultimately.

The mistake was he looked at the ref when he was fouled. Stopped for about half a second, while Jelavic just watched the ball and got advantage while Kompany hoped for a freekick for us. It really was less than a second but it cost him, in a position like this last CB vs last striker you cant stop and only continue the action if you hear no whistle.

After that it was clear that its a red, Kompany knew that what he is doing is a red there. Dont know tho what is better keep 11 people and go behind 1-0 or keep it 0-0 but 10 man down. As it was early in the game probably should let him go and maybe Hart saves it. (Or he gets a red.:D)

Problem is our players get into this situation way too much, one on one and already behind somehow and under pressure they are making big mistakes.
Wigan Demichelis, Barca Demichelis, now this, or the goal Sunderland scored in the final by Borini.

The defensive system must be responsible too not just individuls of course they make the mistakes.

Opponents are targeting our CB's big time, under pressure they just dont get it right as much as they should.

Sounds good but Garcia's shit pass when moving the ball forward was the way ultimately caused the. Issue.
Kompany had more than enough time to get rid of the ball. Stop trying to turn it on Garcia.

It was a poor ball to kompany who was fouled which was the big issue not being given by the pygmy however a pass forward by Garcia would have meant the problem didn't arise.

Basically and its not a major dig at Garcia but even a broken watch is on theoney twice. Javi is not good enough as isn't our second goal scorer.

Agreed, but when he got the ball from Garcia he should have put the boot through it, but I think he's started to listen to his praise that he's the best defender in the prem. I think he is, but he should just do the things that make him so good and not try to be the Silva of the back four. You're a great defender, so just do that job and leave the creative stuff to others. That's not a criticism just a request for you to do the things that you do so well

Have to say its a point that Garcia played a part but then again against Barca I blamed Vinny for that as he had played messi onside and given messi huge space and a 5 yard head start on de michellis.

Yesterday Vinny made a bad call like DM did diving in on messi but in both cases there was another player to share blame. Thankfully we should be ok against Fulham and a rest will not do Vinny any harm

No fair ref wants to send a player off after ten minutes and will look for an excuse not to.

The fact that Jelavic was the initial sinner gave him a very easy 'out' and he chose not to take it. I find that very odd.

That doesn't sound very fair to me. Surely a fair ref would just call it as they see it, regardless of what minute a game is in?
