Kyle Walker

Didn't he get most assists as a fullback in the prem last year? I think he's overpriced but if lukaku is 75m and siguurdson is 40m and Keane is 30m then he's probably priced correctly in this market.

Here come the Fee police.

I'll never, ever understand the fan obsession with transfer fees.
Me neither fella..
£55 million + add on's makes Lukaku look cheap! Needs must now though and this is what it has come to, it's only going to go up.
Huh !! Walker is as important to our defence as Lukaku swampwalker is to uniteds attack. And Walkers a lot cheaper.

Arguably the best RB in the league at the moment, Walker for £50m including addons is not overpriced at all. Considering Lukaku ia £90m, Walker at £50m is the right price if not a bit undervalued. What we are getting for £50m:

  • Homegrown
  • Young
  • Pace
  • Physical and aerial strength
  • Fast crosses
  • Part of team with lowest goal conceded
  • Can play DM
  • Weakens our rival spurs who finished above us last season (assuming the replacement is a downgrade)
I have a feeling he will be crucial in both attacking and defending.

I am somewhat disappointed as, in my view, Alves is still the superior player of the two even now at the age of 34.

Even though it's hard to refute that £50m is far too much for a player of Walker's ability, he should add another dimension to our attack next season.

Whilst you could argue that it's prudent for an elite premier league club to sign two full-backs with excellent physical attributes, I am rather surprised that Pep has targeted both Walker and Mendy this window. My main concern is that they might turn out to be incongruous in a team that places great emphasis on possession-based football. Furthermore, I am not convinced they are particularly strong defenders, thus again it could be perceived as a weakness in our side by opposing sides.

You've said 2/3 times now that he can play in midfield, when exactly?

Yeah, he has played further up a handful of games, but never DM. Suppose it's like how some think Toure could play CB or because Lahm was a good DM any good FB could play there.

Thing is about transfer fees is they are only remembered if the player is a duff, give it 6 months and nobody will be remotely arsed how much Walker cost when he is bombing up and down the wing.
Except in every media headline it will be '£50m Walker this, £50m Walker that......'

Unlike Lukaku who will just be described as 'money well spent'.

We all know how it works.

A lot of money for someone who does not want to play for us and it would have been daft to turn down such a sum.
All our top players don't want to play for us long term when the better offer comes and we cave in as money is more important than winning .
silverware .
Strategy of defeat. They win things we win fuck all .Rinse and repeat same old .

found this on spurs forum, I must of been washing my hair when they won something in the last decade
League Cup 2008. Remind me what else significant occurred in 2008. Were I a cynic I would suggest you were "washing your hair" all the way up to 2009 when you joined this forum. Luckily I'm not a cynic. As a Spurs fan you always look on the bright side of life because the dark days are never far away. Much like the City old timers on here seem to say all the time "we're City we can never do things the easy way". Go through the muck, you learn to appreciate good fortunes and not piss on those less fortunate.

As always good luck to you blues. Can't imagine us winning it this year considering Wembley and all. So if we can't I will be pulling for you guys instead of any red mob or the loathesome chelsea. Please play some beautiful stuff...unless it against us.
