My first concert was Erasure in 89 at the Gmex.Saw him play at Maine Road - my first concert.
He was supporting David Bowie - Glass Spider Tour.
Not too many 12-year-old's can top that as a first concert?
Alyson Moyet was also supporting and loved her voice ever since.

Queen and Quo was 86
Saw the Queen gig. Missed Bowie because I was on a 5 month secondment in Nashville, Tennesee; think I had tickets but had to sell them. Would have been there if in the country.

Getting off topic here but my mates and I went into a Motorhead gig at the Apollo and literally cowered at the back of the stalls behind the seats to try and avoid losing our hearing. We got in for free due to a friendly doorman we knew and didn't stay long.
Ironically, the only gig I've been to that competed with that Motorhead gig for ear splitting volume was a week before Bowie played his MR gigs. Motley Crue at Nashville Arena, which was painfully loud.

I was at the Bowie gig July 87, first night where the great man went up in the glass spider. Council stopped him doing it for the second night because of elf n safety.Saw the Queen gig. Great gig, TTD was excellent too although IRL I thought he was a but of a pain.
