I'm just finding it hard to believe that even real will be willing to pay around 100m plus for him. The only source I could find was some french radio station stating they had already two bids rejected but outside of that no credible source has stated any of the teams listed willing to pay that price for him. This is a team that just won back-to-back champions league trophies and did a double in a season where bale hardly featured. The likes of isco and jamez rodriguez are rotational options where they would be starters for almost every other team. Why they would need to break the world record for a teenager on the basis of one season just makes little sense.

Have it on pretty good authority he's going to sign a new contract. At least that's what Monaco think which means someone from his camp has said it's on.

In some ways I hope he stays there for another season. If he moves now there's always the danger he ends up in Madrid being crowded out and even if he signed for us there would be huge competition. The rags would waste his talent if he went there.

Let him stay for another year in Monaco then we can sign him as our Aguero replacement and hopefully Madrid will be chasing some other shiny new toy.

İf we sign 28 year old Sanchez for 50 and Arsenal signs 18 year once generation player for 110. It would be very big mistake for us. Sanchez will win us a year as RVP at Manu. But this kid is next Messi. I hope Pep understands it. Just spend all Van Dijk and Sanchez money for Mbappe and buy 2 full backs it enough. Bernardo, Ederson, Mendy, Walker, Mbappe is perfect summer. We can convincd Mbappe by Guardiola's youth record, UCL, and presence of Bernardo and Mendy in City 2 of his 3 closest friends at Monaco (3rd is Valeri Germain). Hope somebody reading this from technical stuff of Guardiola. Just skip Sanchez and concentrate on Mbappe. Missing him to PL side would be very very dissapointing.
Next Messi?

I'm not. £100m is an unprecedented transfer fee and we're already talking about comfortably exceeding that.

No club in the world can be 100% sure because there simply isn't enough available information to make that assertion. He's had one season in a lower class league in a counter attacking side that suits his pace.

Again, you haven't got enough information to make the assertion that our kids aren't once in a generation talents. If those players get the same first team as Mbappe has got then who's to say how well they may perform? It's the same logic as would suggest that Josh Harrop is a better player than Sancho because he has played and scored in the Premier League.
I agree such a transfer (well any transfer actually) is a calculated risk, and this particular one only makes sense in the best case scenario. If, however, the best case scenario is that the lad is the next Thierry Henry, the price is not too high. Player prices has doubled or tripled in the last couple of years, and I do not see why this development should stop. Pogba cost 100 million, Higuain 90 million, Watford will not set Troy Deany for 30 million. 130 million for Thierry Henry is ok for me.
Now the problem is off course that the risk is terribly high. What if he does not become Thierry Henry. It takes only a simple injury for this to happen.

Exactly. If Mbappe was already proving that the 'next Henry' tags were not untoward then the fee would seem more reasonable. He's simply not had the time to show whether the comparisons are fair or not though.

It's an enormous risk at that price at this stage of his career.

His price has already reached its maximum. If he has another year next year like he has this year his price won't go up.
As a buyer, we may as well wait and see if he can replicate it

I think it's more a case of "we better sign him before ............. do".
