Are you aged about 12 with no knowledge of history?
It is the only reason you could call The Tories anti europe!
Who took us into Europe? Who signed up to Maastricht? Who took us into the ERM (and then bailed out)?

Denislawsbackheel
No. I have a degree in history actually.
The Tories. The Tories. The Tories.

But, the Tories at this moment in time have promised us a REFERENDUM on Europe, whereas Labour haven't allowed us one despite promising it when they were elected.

The reason Labour won't let us have one is because they know we'll say NO THANKS.

The current general Tory policy is anti-Europe.

Having a degree in history, you should know better than to paint the world in such simplistic black and white terms or be obscurantist.

Ruining papers shows them how unrepresented we are. They know you can bother to show up to vote but that you do not feel able to vote for any party. Let's have an election where 60/70% of the papers are spoiled to show the bastards. Nothing else has worked so it's worth a try.

I'm seriously thinking of starting a "spoil your vote" campaign for the next general election. My only fear is that it might let a few BNP facists into parliament.

Please tell me what is false about what I've posted in the quote above.

That's the fear yeah. It depresses me a lot to think that most of the kids I went to school with and a lot of lads on here will vote BNP under the misguided notion that they want to help them. Depresses the fuck out of me really. Perhaps more so than working class tories :(

I'll still be spoling mine though.

Nothing false in the above post - besides, I didn't accuse you of saying anything false, rather it was a general observation that you've been quite simplistic and occasionally misrepresentative throughout the thread.

If you think that the Tories are offering a referendum for any other reason than that they also believe - like Labour - that the result will be no, you are being very naive. It's certainly not through a high-minded belief in democracy.

Lib-Dem voter, by the way.

However, just remember, no matter how bad things are for the average working man, they would always be worse under the Tories. They govern exclusively for their chosen few and seem to have made no attempt to move away from this under this cretin.

You are so wrong here. In fact, your accusation about governing for their chosen few is more apt if you mean Labour.

As a small business owner struggling to make a profit in difficult times, Labour have increased the corporation tax I have to pay by 3% from 19% to 22%.

The tories will reduce this to 20% if they get in. So whilst it's not perfect, it's a step in the right direction.

I'm sure Labour are busy spending that extra tax I've just paid them on things like ID card preparations, benefits for people who can't be arsed to get a job, asylum seeker accommodation or translators for the police etc.

Makes me fucking sick, but then again I can see why the likes of TMQ will continue to vote for these criminals, because let's face it people who have money should be FORCED to give it away to people who don't have it.

One day you might be required to turn to the state, in fact I'm willing to wager that you already have, maybe then you'll change you view slightly.

Yes, I'm poor but luckily all the rich people in the UK are giving me loads of money, it's brilliant!

Get a grip for fucks sake!

If someone is unemployed or disabled they have every right to help and benefits. All this 'ooh ive worked hard all my life' shite is just that...shite!

The tories destroyed the working classes in England in the 1980's, they destroyed Wales and Scotland yet some mongs want them back in power? Pathetic.

I know the two parties have had to edge closer and closer together to get more votes, but let's be honest about the general attitudes of each party:

Labour: tax increases
Tory: tax cuts

Labour: lenient on crime
Tory: strict on crime

Labour: more immigration
Tory: less immigration

Labour: pro-gay
Tory: pro-family

Labour: more benefits to poor people paid for by rich people
Tory: less benefits to poor people so rich people don't have to pay as much tax

Labour: doesn't want people to inherit wealth from their dead parents
Tory: happy to let money be passed from dead parents to offspring

Labour: happy for 70% of our laws to be decided by European politicians
Tory: anti-Europe (except Ken Clarke)

Changed my mind. I'm a tory toff now !!

Ok so let's say for arguments sake I'm rich, you're poor. Let's cut out the middleman (the government). How much of my money do you think you are entitled to?
