Lack of excitement for the World Cup?

I can't get interested in this World Cup... Not yet anyway

I find Hodgson to be totally devoid of enthusiasm, that's the impression I get anyway, so god knows what the players think

I'll cheer on the team but don't see us getting out of the group after last night..

The likes of Johnson were shite
 
I was feeling optimistic, right up until what I witnessed last night... long ball and the squad can't string passes together. Questions have to be asked, what has Hodgson been actually doing all this time?
 
If they got rid of Rooney, Gerrard and Welshit we'd have a young team I could actually bring myself to support again.
 
I'm definitely looking forward to the World Cup, wall to wall football for a few weeks, what's not to like? As for England, judging by last night I expect I'll be hurling more abuse than usual at the Fat Grannyshagger.

We fluked that run to the semis. Awful against Ireland, awful against the Netherlands, awful against Egypt, awful against Belgium till a late, late winner, utterly outplayed by Cameroon till they decided to hack Lineker twice, and then one good game against Germany. Which we lost.

We were unbeaten in the tournamount apart from the third place play off
And I wouldn't say Cameroon totally outplayed us although I do remember Shilton having a good game.

Just because we were unbeaten doesn't mean we deserved it.

I remember the 3rd/4th place play off match for one of the funniest offsides I've ever seen - he was about 35 yards onside and the linesman completely missed the defender playing him on.
 
I wouldn't say I'm remotely excited, I haven't given a shit about England for about 15 years, but I am looking forward to watching a load of stress free football that doesn't have me constantly shitting my pants.
 
I'm looking forward to it. Love the World Cup. Not got much hopes for England though. Watching them last night
trying to control the ball and keep it within 5 yards, made me realise how far off the top teams we have finally
dropped. Hopefully they'll be some great games between teams who have decided to give it a go and play football.
