Tories and labour are as bad as each other in my book. Our parliamentary democracy is so heavily controlled by whoever happens to be PM that it's all a farce.

Maggie brought the country to it's knees and played a great big game of social engineering that destroyed communities and industries. She bought into a very flawed economic model (as did Reagan) and fundamentally changed the way people viewed their role within a society.

I won't be wearing a black armband the day she dies.

Since the war we had wishy washy prime ministers after wishy washy prime ministers.All bowing down to unions.Most of you don't remember the 3 day week.Electricity turned off.unions ruled with an iron fist.Fine if you wanted your country to be on strike all the time.And don't say striking works.Most normal workers fear going on strike.You end up skint.Begging for money and handouts.

And then she turned up.A great big battleaxe.Granted she got back in due to the falklands in the 80's.But she lead the country.She had to make a lot of very unpopular decisions but for the good of the country.

She realised we couldn't compete with our high wages and shoddy goods against the japs etc.So she streamlined the economy.

Look at where you work now.Look at your houses,your gadgets,the cash in your pockets.None of this would have been possible without her.

Compere her to Blair.No contest.When he dies i want no state funeral.He deserves an unmarked grave.To be pissed on everyday by tramps and slags on the ale.

Winston Churchill was an extremely controversial figure, more so than Lady T, remember he lost an election after winning a war.

He still deserved his state funeral though.

at least Duke of Wellington, Lord Palmerston and Gladstone got them as well as Churchill and Nelson. There have, in fact, been 9 state funerals of commoners since 1586.

I lived through the 3 day week, my Grandfather had to take on a second job as a taxi driver and I also remember the candles every night. I know she came along and dragged us into a whole different world, but that was at the expense of so much that I cannot understand why the powers that be do not understand that many will see it almost as a seal of approval of what many people feel was brutal.
I just think they have got it wrong on this one.

Hence that treaty they signed for Europe and as De niro says, what is the point of showing the results of knife crime to kids? jail them would be the correct course of action! I won't go into the politics of the UK, your government does come across as being very out of touch with the general populous! same with any government I reckon!
