Lap of honour

According to the OS, Sergio will get his Golden Boot award on Sunday after the game should, barring a miracle from Kane, he win it.

Same article says that the players will do a lap of appreciation and both Pellegrini and Kompany will address the crowd

Thanks

I'm stopping for the lap of appreciation. I'll be waiting to see which of the wags vinny is obviously avoiding ;-)
Too soon?

I don't mind the wives and children it is the other hangers on that I find annoying, plus the photographers and cameramen. For the last few seasons we haven't been able to see the players for the hangers on. It's like a pitch invasion of about 100 people!!

I just want to see the players and their families not their agent, their uncle, their cousin, their brother, their sister just the players and their wives and children please.

Yes it is hard to recognise the players in the throng and they at times hardly notice the crowd,i just hope they don't start booming out that shit music at ear splitting decibels, it kills the rapport and any singing in appreciation of the players.

I don't like drawn out trophy presentations.

Even after seeing Sergio score the winner v QPR right in front of my eyes, ending 44 years of wait since I last remembered City winning the league in 1968, I was getting a bit bored by the time the trophy was presented.

You are strange. I, and most people around me at the time, never wanted it to end

They are presenting the golden boot and possibly the golden glove after a lap of appreciation, as well.

Very strange !!!

I remember at Maine Road last game of the season the invidual supporters clubs doing a lap or two before the game, got to carry a banner as a kid and was applauded the whole way around. My old man bought me a new bobble hat and scarf. That was a proper lap of honour!

Not strange, just older.

Trophy presentations and laps of honour take ages these days, much longer than they used to.

When City won cup in 2011 and the league in 2012 and 2014, the excitement of the moment was totally lost by the long wait to set up all the corporate stuff on the pitch, and the lap of honour was painfully slow too.

I want to see the trophy presented quickly, a brisk lap of honour and then off to the pub or wherever to celebrate.

Don't bore me with stages festooned with adverts being set up on the pitch, everyone from the manager to the tea lady coming out for a cheer, and fireworks and confetti style bits of paper flying around.
