Fa cup semi final at Villa Park in 81 we out numbered Ipswich massively
this was a mad day out, how away days often used to be in the mid 80's remember at notts train station not having time to get to the train on the other side and running across the the tracks to get on it, pure madness of youthTo counter the lowest away following thread.
I’ll start with Notts County away in 1985.
Promotion game, Bank holiday Monday from memory. Party atmosphere on the special travelling to Nottingham.
3-0 down at half time, pitch invasion and fans in the dressing room. Two Simmo goals brought us back into it but it wasn’t to be.
Train wrecked on the way home
Notts County average was 6000 that season. 17,000 plus there that day so I’ll hazard a guess that we had 11-12000 fans there.
Was there that day, was absolutely rammed in that away end. Went on a coach from aytown st, none of us had tickets, all jibbed in. Mates on other coaches said the same, so I think the away following was much bigger than officially acknowledged. To counter the lowest away following thread.

It was mad before, during and after that match. "No door knockers" is funny, though. :-)Not the biggest but possibly one of the better organisedView attachment 59534
