Why has this WUM not been banned ?

Because I am not a WUM - 99% of football fans that aren't city fans would take Diarra over De Jong.

I honestly do not understand how people can Rate De Jong over Diarra - could someone please explain coherently why this is the case. (with actual points not just shit)

What are their comparative ratings on FIFA/pro evo/FM?

I know it might sound a bit daft, but this is an independent games, and shouldn't have any real sort of bias and give a small indication to what is generally perceived as the quality of a player.

Do you have no doubts about what you are saying due to the fact that basically everyone rates him very highly...players, pundits and fans. It's you, Dax and maybe one or two others that don't. Now surely you aren't arrogant enough to think that you are more knowledgeable on football than 99% of other city fans..? Just, for one second, have a think that you could be wrong, and that not every fan is viewing him through blue tinted specs. Virtually every fan of another team who has watched him play has said he was our best player- it is by no means just City fans who rate him.

If it was a 50/50 split on here regarding peoples thoughts on him, you could be in the right....even 60/40 split, but when basically everyone disagrees with you I think you may have to concede that you may be wrong...??

And, I hate to do this, as I am sure you are a city fan....but how many games do you go to, you and Dax..?? I bet you are Fifa and FM players...!

On a City forum, if De Jong wasn't deemed the better player by the majority, that would mean he was really poor. Which he isn;t to be fair. Just not as good as fans claim.

Though at the same time you seem to have issues with City fans largely preferring De Jong over Barry, and both are City players so there should be very little pre-existing bias.

Wrong!!! I don't have issues with fans proffering De Jong over Barry. Especially considering I prefer De Jong over Barry. What I have problem with is people trying to blame Barry for all that ails City while holding De Jong as untouchable. I don't canonize or demonize. Just watch and say what I see. Like I said on the WH game, outside of the goal De Jong was invisible. But rather than admit that fact some were already arguing he was playing well when in fact he wasn't. We later found out this was due to being injured. But the salient point here is that he was inviscible, but yet was deemed to be doing well. That is the bias I dislike - In City fans- Not De Jong himself!!!

I am currently seacrhing for distance covered and tackle and interception statistics on Spanish websites, once I find them I will compare them to De Jong's

Maybe it's just that De Jong is better. He definitly suits the prem a lot more than Diarra.

I think your logic is slightly out there -

Non-city fans rate Diarra higher - what reason do they have to be biased (unless they are french or Madristas)

City fans rate De Jong higher.

Do they? I would like to see evidence of this poll that you have taken. Or are you just saying that as it is as hard to prove as it is to disprove?

Different players. Diarra iss not a specialist defensive midfielder. He is much more complete a player than that.

De Jong is a defensive midfielder as a rule. He patrols a small area of the pitch and does his job wonderfully well. If De Jong had someone like Diarra next to him instead of the one-paced Barry then our midfield would be an awful lot better off. Diarra and De Jong would compliment each other perfectly IMO.

I don't give a toss who thinks De Jong is or isn't world class, better than this guy or that guy. What's important is that he is vital to our team and he is vital with his job in giving guys like Silva and Johnson in front of him the space to drift into dangerous areas.

The Diarra comparison is an interesting one because imagine a partnership between him and De Jong in front of our back four? I honestly see it being more profitable for us than when Barry is there. because his lack of legs can be badly shown up in certain games. I know it's unlikely to happen but I'd prefer us to be linked with him rather than someone like Pirlo.
