Last Film You Saw

Barbie (yes, i went there) - 7/10

An odd film, but strangely enjoyable. Super saturated colours and real (i think) sets make this a bit of a treat for the eyes, cinematically they've done a decent job with this film. The humour is strange, dry and quirky, and it raises a few chuckles. It's not really a kids film (12 rated to be fair), much to the disappointment (and my hilarity) of the mother and 6 year old (!) kids in tow, sat behind me.

I am not sure the film offers too much new on women's rights? is anything new said? then again, should it have to? why is it that a film ostensibly about women and their plight should then go ahead and have to solve it all? we've been subjected to many 'lads' and 'roadtrip' movies over the years that are meaningless drivel, so why can't Barbie be mainly fun with a medium strength message? overall it's harmless, i enjoy seeing blokes getting in a right old tizzy about it.
Not seen it, yet, but apparently all the sets/cars etc were made 23% smaller to fit the scale of the dolls in the toy world.

I went to watch it yesterday afternoon and those are my exact same thoughts on it.
It just dragged on and on,with far to many courtroom/ congressional hearings in it.
In fact the only part I really enjoyed was the 20 minutes or so leading up to the Trinity/first test explosion in the desert.
I'm glad it's 3 hours long.
Saved me $10 admittance fee.

First Blood 7/10 still the best of all the Rambo films
Rambo 2 6/10 Typical USA chest thumping film of the 80s
Unlikely pilgrimage of Harold Fry, 6/10 love Jim Broadbent a very underrated actor.

Tetris.

It seemed heavily embellished for dramatic effect but still very enjoyable.

The Flash.
I lost interest in the superhero genre a long time ago but thought I'd give this a go having heard of the cameos in it. Actually pleasantly surprised it wasn't absolutely god awful. Apart from some of the very worst cgi I've ever seen, it had a fairly decent story and for probably the first time ever in a superhero film I actually felt the emotion of a death scene at the end.

3/5 is fair.

Sympathy for the devil - i usually like nick cage but to call this awful would be an insult to awful things

I wondered where he'd gone.
Just noticed he directed a version of Rebecca. Did this go straight to streaming or something? Reviews not good.
His first 4 or 5 films are very good.

Thought High Rise was disappointing though.
His horrendous Rebecca was a Netflix product
