I thought when we scored the second so soon after the first, that sunderland would fold.man i was wrong. If i was a sunderland fan id be very happy with their respnse and effort today. They gave it all.

Very proud of my team today, couldn't believe it when Borini scored...we were actually winning a cup final.
But credit where it is due...2 worldies in 2 mins killed us....and overall in the end, you deserved your win, but I was so proud we pushed you close.
The atmosphere from both sets of fans was fantastic.
Well done

Thought Sunderland fans were great today mate, was chatting to a few after game on way back to coach and no hint of trouble or bitterness. really hope you stay up. Good luck for rest of the season ( barring the City game obviously)

Terrific result, there's no such thing as a mickey mouse cup when the final's at Wembley, really pleased by the character we showed, and by God, those two goals by Yaya and Nasri! It's a time of celebration, and we all are celebrating, rightly so, but I just want to say one thing, even if it sounds churlish. There's something wrong with the central defence, and there's been something wrong all season. There's no way a lone striker should score against two seasoned central defenders +a keeper, unless they're called Ronaldo or Messi. I have both Demichelis and Vinny at fault for that one, the first for being way out of position, the second for staking everything on a tackle that he didn't have to make, and which he badly fluffed, when he could have manœuvred the Sunderland player out to an even tighter angle. But it doesn't matter whether you combine those two, Vinny and Nastasic, Nastasic and Demichelis, Demichelis and Joleon, whatever. That is the only part of the team that hasn't been functioning properly.
Anyway, great win against a team that gave us a run for our money — respect to them. Yaya always steps up to the plate for the big ones. Just wish he could be a little bit more interested for the little ones. Navas more than ever a major, major part of our team. Aleks, for me, has confirmed his place in that position, and is the most improved player since last season.
One down. Two others — PL and the Cup — to be dealt with! Good times, blues.

This cup for me is better than the Fa cup because you only go to Wembley for the final! This going to Wembley for semi-finals is degrading the Fa Cup competition

Brill day out followed by a good knees up in the RoyalGeorge in Euston afterwards -all Sunderland fans were joining in no hassle at all .Just watched it all again Yaya best goal ever at a Wembley final?

Congratulations. Have to say I thought we were in with a shot after our first half performance, don't think we did too badly in the second half either tbh but we were outdone by 2 absolute worldy's, the first one being the pick of the bunch. Obviously you's stepped up the pace but until Navas' goal went in I still thought we looked as if we might get back into it at some point. Thought our team & fans did our whole region proud, never mind just our club, and who knows, maybe we'll get to do this all again sometime really soon..?
Good analysis of events.
Thought your fans were brilliant before, during and after the game. You made the day more enjoyable for all of us through your behaviour particularly after the game when you must have felt pretty low.
With the manager and players you have you will definitely do well.
All the very best for the rest of the season.

Agree. And this season's League Cup quarter-finalists, with 7 PL sides plus (now) runaway Championship leaders Leicester, were arguably a stronger set than the current FA Cup quarter finalists.

The atmosphere in tier 3 where I was behind the goal was deafing at one point wat an amazing day. First half we were all over the show at the back but managed to come back and win. Kompany tackle at the end of the first half was a big moment in the game.
