Thought they were shit in the 60s
And still do.
Good as it was just a chord progression. Also think i'm right in saying the original guy had no problem with it and never once wanted to sue but after he died his family saw $ signs.![]()
Plagiarism case over Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven finally ends
US supreme court rejects appeal relating to Spirit and their song Taurus, after verdict in favour of Led Zeppelin was upheld earlier this yearwww.theguardian.com
Yeah that's correct. Randy California died late 90s and never once raised any objection. I think Page and Plant had probably heard Taurus though. An influence but not enough to take a songwriting credit.Good as it was just a chord progression. Yeah just like Bad from Jacko just lifts the riff from Zep's Heartbreaker less about 1 note. When asked Page just said he liked it.Yeah that's correct. You know what i agree with you about ABitW but i heard the guy who came up with sax solo and played it on Baker Street only made about £200 off it. I get that without the brilliance of Gerry Rafferty( very underrated i think) there is no song but i think he should of got 10% of royalties or something. Tough one i suppose.I see the kids who sang on Another Brick in the Wall sued Pink Floyd thirty years later.
The ungrateful money grabbing arseholes should be grateful they were even on it.
The woman who sang on Great Gig in the Sky only sued forty years later. You know what i agree with you about ABitW but i heard the guy who came up with sax solo and played it on Baker Street only made about £200 off it. F#ck really? The woman who sang on Great Gig in the Sky only sued forty years later.
And the guy who did the boring piano bit on Layla gets 50 percent of the royalties.
Hey i enjoy that piano bit :)The woman who sang on Great Gig in the Sky only sued forty years later.

Unfortunately no. Due to my job at the time I had to work irregular shifts my mate had got tickets for the 1st Knebworth but had to work so couldn't go. Was going to just pay on the gate for the 2nd Knebworth gig but again was dragged into work. A full UK tour was planned for 1980 and was geared up for that, however after a few warm up gigs in Europe early 1980, well we know the rest, absolutely gutted not to see them. I have about 40 vinyl bootlegs of them including the 1st Knebworth gig and I have to make do with that.Anyone else on here seen them live, and what are your memories?
(I'm talking about the original foursome with Bonzo, not Page/Plant etc)
I went to the last nights gig at Earls Court in May '75 and both Knebworths in August 1979.
What’s your best quality 77 tour boot mate? I’ve got Listen To This Eddie on a 3 cd set, but I’m keen get the best quality I can from that tour - it has my favourite set list of any of their tours.Unfortunately no. I think that was the nature of the beast back then. You know what i agree with you about ABitW but i heard the guy who came up with sax solo and played it on Baker Street only made about £200 off it.
