Leeds (H) | PL | Post-Match Thread

Not an ideal finish but the three points is what matters and I'm sure Pep would of been lighting a fire under the players arses in the dressing room after the game.

Leeds were predictably dreadful, so we controlled the game until the point where we completely lost the plot.

Yes, 3 points but play like that against Madrid and we can forget about a treble.

I wonder if Pep will arrange a reverse guard of honour for Erling in which he comes out of the tunnel and gets booed by all and sundry…

Here's the thing, though. I genuinely think there was no chance whatsoever that Leeds would have scored if a) Gundo had taken it and scored b) Haaland had taken it and scored c) Haaland had taken it and missed! I am convinced that this happens to teams. There's a change of routine, an improvised individual decision that was not in the general game plan, and the whole team just needs a few minutes to reset and get back to their full concentration. I'm not even saying it's conscious. Because we were totally cruising right through the game.
That is the real takeaway lesson, and I hope Pep will be emphasising it. No need to give anybody a bollocking, just emphasise that in the privacy of the dressing room or training ground, calmly and firmly.

If Haaland is on the pitch, he should take the penalty. Disrespectful to the opposition and potentially could have cost us points.

Reminded me of of Kun’s howler against Chelsea which contributed to them winning a game which was over, a subsequent FA cups semi and the CL.

Pep will be absolutely livid.
