Leeds United (H) - Post-Match Thread

We used up a lot of our luck quota in that game. Some nice deflections and rebounds that went our way. The all important goal had a large slice of luck to it - as well as good play
Don't worry Marvin, we've still not had our share of the rub of the green with the ref and VAR. All will be fine.

58th birthday, on call for a flight, fingers crossed they don’t call! They do!

But wait, 6:20pm flight to Amsterdam! Start doing the maths…pack, shower, get half ready (undershirt, pants, shoes, but no shirt, tie, jacket, hat!) make a quick sandwich before kick off at 2pm, watch the first half, finish getting ready at half time, soon as game ends zip off to airport just in time for Flight Operations check-in!

Worked out perfectly and what a sweet birthday gift from City!!!

Kids gave me brilliant cards before I left the house, very nice and competent crew, decent steak dinner on the flight, barely a ripple of turbulence up at 41,000 ft. Manchester looked lovely passing over at about 7:45 am this morning, and despite the low clouds, a smooth approach and landing in Amsterdam, 20 mins early at the gate!

Tucked up in my room in central Amsterdam getting ready for a nap, then a few hours of walking around town and grabbing some food before things close at 5pm!

My first solo (non-checkride with Check Airman) flight as a 787 Captain on my birthday and what a brilliant way to end it!

Thanks kids, thanks City, and thanks to the landing Gods for not smiting me and trying to ruin it all!

Now, time for some sweet dreams about counting City goals, not sheep, against the sheep shaggers!!!

:-)

i havent found any replays for these yet;

the possible handball from Leeds in the penalty area after 30 seconds, looked like it in real time?
the Foden disallowed goal, was it close?

immaterial, just interested

Jack is growing into the team, and the the thing he is learning that unlike at Villa he has to work as hard as everybody else. At Villa he got a free pass because he was their main man, at City if he doesn't work as hard as others he does not play. It happened with Mahrez, now look at him tackling back and closing down. The very best get the ethics of the game, yes we have special talents, but if you sign for us and watch Kev and Bernardo work their socks until the final whistle and if we are 5 nil up it sets a standard you have to reach to play. Kev was magnificent tonight, he is our new King Colin.

What i like is they all seem to love being in that competitive environment, they drive each other on and take a collective joy in each others achievements.

It has to be a fantastic environment to work in as you hear no moans, no complaints, when asked to play they are all ready and give everything they can. You see the bench celebrate as much as those on the pitch, it really is special and I believe we are possibly as good as we have ever been.

I love that we win playing beautiful football, for so many years we watched good, average and indifferent players wear our shirt. they mostly represented us with pride and I love them for that, now though we are in an era none of us should ever forget because its special, very very special.

On a side note I love Zincho, he epitomises us as a team, he is very talented, Ukraine's main man, yet for us he plays the role assigned to him, he fights for a place and he never lets us down, the lad should be in our proud tradition of having cult heroes, up there in the pantheon.
Our 21st century Dave Connor

Foden’s metatarsals and toes were ahead of the ball when it was played.

How many times did they mention the injurys ?????????????????????????????????? The Yorkie bird could not stop banging on about it.
