Leeds Utd v City - 1976/77 FA Cup

I remember that well as I was walking back into Leeds with a City-supporting mate who lived there. I always look a transistor radio to games and had the radio out, surrounded by Leeds fans (obviously I wasn't showing any colours) when the draw was made. "Leeds United will play......Manchester City". I nearly blurted "Oh fuck we've got to come back here again" when I stopped myself, put on my best Yorkshire accent and shouted "Ay up, we've got City again lads".

The kids of today have no idea what going to an away game was like back then. Getting back to Leeds or Newcastle stations was like being in The Warriors.
You're right there PB. I was at a Leeds game a couple of years after this, and I got asked where I was from. I said Leeds, and then got asked whereabouts in Leeds? I said Bradford and they said straight away, we've got a couple here lads. We legged it all the way back to the station.

great clip ! went to Leeds a couple of times , in the old shed end .scary doesnt quite describe it properly , violence was in the air all the time there !
altho looking at that clip it looks like blues going for it ?
It was called the cow shed I went there first away 1974 lost 1-0

Newcastle away in FAC,not sure what year '76 ?

In pub next to Gallowgate, huge Wild West bar room brawl twixt City & Newcs. Chairs, tables, bottles, cigarette machine, bins from out side,it was absolutely vicious hand to hand & it went on for what seemed ages.

But,in the middle of this big room was a table football game going on between fans of both sides. They never batted an eyelid. Shrapnel, missiles, bodies flying all over their heads and they never seemed to notice. Just played on.

At the end every window was out,the place was smashed up & City fans pushed a big blazing industrial bin through the front door.

There was fighting inside the ground from the first minute to last and it was like a rolling brawl involving hundreds & hundreds back into town afterwards.

Another very interesting day out watching the mighty Blues.

2nd away game was Leeds not long after this '82 ish, i'm sure Tolmie & Parlane were playing and one of them scored. Anyway i was only 10 or 11 and i must say it was carnage under some tunnel and our coach returned to Manchester minus it's windows! Talk about throwing a young lad in at the deep end, i honestly thought we would be killed!
Great video.

Frogmarched through sunderland..the old bill telling us to keep quiet..bad mistake..we let sunderland know we were there.

My late Father was frogmarched out of the 'Scratching Shed' during the '67 cup tie with his arm up his back.

He was in his late 50s !!

** The Cow Shed was at Leeds Road,Huddersfield.
Me & Reno went on findlands from Maine Road we were 14 I've always believed it was called the cow shed 42 years living a lie

Always called it the cowshed, remember one year city started leaving at three quarter time and Leeds started coming in , by the end of the game there was more Leeds than city!!! Also coming back from there after a really wild day to meet Liverpool at Victoria station who had been at utd,big kick off with them then Utd waiting outside Victoria for us!!!

Used to be called the shed too.......easily mixed up over the years too

Scratching shed was its real name

The Shed was Chavski....could be interesting in there & at the back of that small, freestanding double decker they had twixt the old main stand and the open end.

Fun,games & boxing after the 3-0 FAC & CWC semi.
