Leicester City (H) Post Match Thread

I think our problems are bigger than any of us realise.

I think all of us and yourself included knew what the problems were and still are mate, certain positions that are more than head scratching that haven’t been addressed ,fucking joke, can handle losing it happened a lot of times last season, but that’s an hammering that,3 pens or not

Mendy has always gotten away with it because of his injury.

Barring a lamentable first-half showing from us in the loss at Monaco and 20, rinse and repeat crosses in an opening day win at Arsenal, he has never shown anything that justified a £50m purchase.

His deficiencies are many and aren't because of injury or now fitness, it's because he can't defend and isn't particularly quick running back to his own goal.

Same goes for Garcia, runs in treacle and because he came from Barca, somehow gives him a stamp of quality.

Pep went down in my estimation when he picked him for the Lyon game.

Sadly, it is one of many poor errors of judgment during this year.

I genuinely don't see how having two fit strikers today would have made any difference to the result in terms of legislating for other players on the pitch who just aren't nowhere good enough for present Manchester City.
So is there any intention from the board to do anything about this or are they happy just to fall back into the pack?

Rodri was amazing for athletico madrid , whats happened? he was very good in the first half today then just died out in the second half he never was like that at athletico

He had other players around him doing the defending and defensive work.

Take Fernandinho off and he is limited.

I feel like our links with Messi has fucked us up.

It was obvious we would have paid whatever it took to get him here.

Now every fucker knows we have cash.

City price on every fucking transfer.

Even squad players.
It was the time we wasted, and the dreamers who did not see the real issues with this teams for such a long time.

Lyon was an appealing performance and it did ENORMOUS damage to the dressing room.

The night that Pep and the players divorced and not seen anything to think I am wrong thinking that.

We weren't good enough against a good side that exploited our weaknesses. Several key players out, new players in and a few brain farts by players who should have done better. I'm not happy but I think this is just a blip, albeit painful to watch blip.

Win or lose have a booze. I'll be having a few later to help drown my sorrows.

Up the blues.

Pep is in a different world as a manager, but recruitment under Roberto was outstanding.
This is it. Our team hasn’t been this bad since before aguero in my opinion and hope to be proved wrong , we’ve lost Leroy , silva and Kompany in the last season and aguero is ageing and replaced them with fernando Torres Foden and ake, no disrespect to them as they all have potential but they are nowhere near the levels of players that they are replacing. The recruitment has been awful paying 60 odd million for Rodri but not going for Thiago for 20 mil being one of many. Think this will be the season we pay for our poor business over last few transfer windows.

Right - I'm fuming but for my sanity I've got to look at this objectively.

Firstly I agree with others here - Pep needs to come out right now and say he's staying - that will end any speculation that this is his long farewell and he'll be gone by January/Feb. Otherwise we have to move on without him.

Secondly I think we need to have a rethink about a few tactical ideas. Loads of possession doesn't mean winning games.

Garcia, if you want to go then go right now - you're not as good as you seem to think you are.

Phil needs to realise he has to work hard each and every minute, today he looked tired. You're a young man who should leave everything on the pitch- sadly today you didn't - although I have no doubts about him all this talk of £150k per week is a little premature.

Sell Mahrez now, his goal will only enhance his potential value but as we all know he did f*** all after it - same pattern every game. The first Leicester pen showed what I see in his game and why I don't want him in the team - he had two chances to tactically foul and was passive. Not that the final tackle was his fault but that move could have been stopped on the half way line by him and then again 30 yards out. Silva would have done that in a heartbeat. These are the things that make the difference - in contrast three times when Kev was breaking forward Leicester fouled him - that is football smarts and a team mentality.

Rodri needs to have more confidence to make the forward passes I know he's capable of. No good just playing sideways.

Mendy - you need to lose about 10kg and spend less time bulking your upper body strength - we are not here for shirtless IG posts, we are here to win football matches.

Walker - If you are going to be our buccaneering fullback stay after training and work out how to cross the ball better. I would prefer if he was actually told to defend first and leave more space for our wide men to use.

So Pep - please play Raheem wide on the right, Torres on the left and stretch teams that way rather than pushing Mendy and Walker so high we are left with gaping holes to try and defend. No wonder our midfielders look so poor they have to cover so much space.

Only one game but some worrying trends that will not be fixed by the signing of a single defender. Sorry to get that off my chest, I hope you will all forgive my BM therapy. Thank you fellow blues - it will get better together...

Hopefully this will sharpen minds for the closing week of the deadline.

The second pen should have been overturned, Vardy kicked Garcia initiating contact. Why wasn't it reviewed.

Sometimes there’s a really big formal VAR review and at other times they seem not to give a shit... who decides.

Has Pep spoken yet, no doubt he's proud of the players and really happy with everything.

Hope he comes out and say's it's simply not good enough and player were at fault

I think Arteta offered a lot more than we realised. Pep just doesn’t look the same without him. They were a great team on the side lines
Maybe you re right but once again I say if not Pep then who?

For me, the club has a lot to answer for, never replacing Kompany and how long ago did he leave????

Once again an away team has shown that all this possession play is not enough in this league, we are not dynamic enough, said it for over twelve months, teams know exactly how to play us, for me, we need to change

Bayern Munich just got spanked by the might Hoffenheim 4-1. If you were a BM fan, would you be saying the same thing on their forum?
Isn't that the first game they haven't won in about 25 games?
Whereas we tend to lose every 4 games. I can see the logical comparison.....
