Leicester City v City post match.

The thing I can't understand about yesterday is that Pep has a deserved reputation for being a master at studying the opposition, working out the ideal tactics to beat them. Yesterday he set us up to play as if he'd never seen Leicester, never heard of Vardy or Mahrez. One report, which I found difficult to disagree with, opined that it was as if Ranieri had been given the chance to pick our team, formation and tactics. Baffling.

If Pep didn't know about the premiership then yesterday was his wake up call. Leicester gave us a proper spanking yesterday just like the did last year. The goals towards the end for us were nothing more than Leicester switching off and had the game in the bag after 4 minutes. Lets just hope he can learn from this because if not I can see the bin dippers giving us a proper hiding the only difference being that they will have the full still on the throat when Leicester had switch off.

i can see why fans would have left after the 4th and I assume plenty did but 20 mins seems extreme. Still a lot don't go for the football. It's more the day out.

But Chelseas and two of Leicesters goals were similar i.e. 1 pass through or over a static defence leaving them 1 on 1 with a keeper who doesn't close down the angle adequately

So he should have learnt lessons from
Chelsea but either didn't or had some misplaced faith that it wouldn't happen again

I wasn't there yesterday (thank god) as I had something on last night, so I'm only speculating but I bet those who left on 20 mins didn't actually leave but just went into the concourse for some badly needed alcohol and watched it on the TVs ?

We just seemed to play to their strengths from the outset.

"Here you go JV; here's a lovely bit of space for you to run into; that'll do your confidence the world of good".

We'd have been better off playing 4-4-1-1, and soaking up their early pressure, then hitting them on the break. That would have confused the shit out of them. Instead, we just played our usual 3 at the back, high line headless chicken routine, that every team has got sussed out. All they do is wait for the inevitable gap, and pop one over the top for their front men to run on to. We fall for it week in, week out.

Those goals were precisely what I've been wanting City to attempt when the opposition have a corner. We have Sterling and Navas with so much pace, and we rarely utilise it. We have Aguero helping to defend with absolutely nobody left up the field in case we get a break.
We'd had two masterclasses in succession on it, and in fact, we've given away similar goals before.

The more I see the 1st and 3rd Leicester goals the more I find myself wondering how and why Mahrez has got so much room to execute a cushion pass for Vardy.
By all mean blame Kolarov's lack of pace, but the problems start further up the pitch,
