Leicester City v City post match.

But Chelseas and two of Leicesters goals were similar i.e. 1 pass through or over a static defence leaving them 1 on 1 with a keeper who doesn't close down the angle adequately

So he should have learnt lessons from
Chelsea but either didn't or had some misplaced faith that it wouldn't happen again

Sadly its the blind faith in Bravo that worries me. Hart had his faults but being brave and making himself big was not one of them.

What is worrying me is I do not see any improvement in the defence department this season, pep seems reluctant to blood the young guys, it's unlikely we will sign anybody in January so same old same old don't look good does it. succession planning seems to be an issue with our club surprising when you think of the investment value by the owners.

I wasn't there yesterday (thank god) as I had something on last night, so I'm only speculating but I bet those who left on 20 mins didn't actually leave but just went into the concourse for some badly needed alcohol and watched it on the TVs ?

A lot did go for a drink and I was surprised to see them still serving at that time, however there were several demanding to be let out who were through turnstile 41. It wasn't like the half time exodus at WHL at 3-0 HT though when hundreds left. Probably happens a lot just only seen it Boro 2-0 ten men at half time and Spurs when there were lots leaving.

The more I see the 1st and 3rd Leicester goals the more I find myself wondering how and why Mahrez has got so much room to execute a cushion pass for Vardy.
By all mean blame Kolarov's lack of pace, but the problems start further up the pitch,

The worst thing about the 1st was that no one took it open themselves to attack the ball and head away Huth's long header, the basic defensive instincts are being stripped away.

I made the same point in an earlier post.
We're lacking in the basic fundamentals: tackling, distance on defensive headers, marking tight when the opposition have the ball, blocking shots (watch Silva's pathetic attempt for Leicester's 2nd)

Yeah the angle from in front of the goal makes Silva look not serious about blocking it, he needed to be 2 feet to his right rather than cowering making himself small.

Also, I've just had a flashback.
I was leaving the stadium, just as it went 4-0. However, I quickly nipped into the toilets, and there was a youngish lad with a hooded grey top and shorts. He asked if I'd watched the game (which I found quite puzzling) before proudly boasting that he hadn't watched a single minute.
Not sure which category that puts him in SWP's guide to loyal City support.

That's true for most but in this case you should allow for the 4,000 miles from where SWPs Back is to Leicester.
I know roughly where he's based so I assumed he wasn't there.
My point still stands: Don't slag off those who made the trip, whatever time they left the ground. It's no fun being surrounded by fuckwits with clap sticks, goal music and a bloody drum when they shove four goals past you.

I agree that nobody that makes the effort to go should be called a twat for leaving early, especially by people who haven't gone to the game. Most normal people would say something like 'I'm surprised they left so early but it's their choice', and not just insulted them. I turned the game off for about ten minutes after the third but a naive belief that we could pull it back made me switch it back on
