Leicester (H) | PL | Post-Match Thread

Sky Sports' Jamie Redknapp:

"It could have backfired for Manchester City, taking Rodri, De Bruyne and Haaland off. It goes to 3-1 and Maddison and Iheanacho had great chances. Man City had no answers. They got away with it. Of course you have to make changes and protect players but they were incredibly lucky today."

We got incredibly lucky apparently
I love statements like this. As if we would have played the same way had we conceded a second.

We could also lose every game and end up third.

You're suggesting we could have scored up to 10 goals today, while also suggesting we could win 7 games by a single goal.

It "could", but do you really think it's likely enough to worth worrying about?
It ain't that deep for me as to argue over an ifs, buts and maybes conversation, we didn't go for the jugular today, for me I find that poor by us, you don't which is fine by me beyond that I ain't that arsed, its a saturday night such as this is a one comment chat and carry on enjoying the weekend

enjoy your weekend I am off to the chippy

I really enjoyed the first half, sun was shining, Pep picked a decent team & we scored early to settle the nerves, Haaland got another two & Boulders scored a screamer, with Pep asking Mahrez to play narrow and KW overlapping. We looked dangerous both sides of the pitch & Kev pulled the strings. Second half was a bit meh, but totally expected, this wasn’t Pep gambling or taking liberties, he was giving rest to at least 7 players that will start against Bayern, and getting the other lads some game time, ready for an amazing end to the season

Just home from the game. Jeez, that was frustrating 3-0 up at half time and cruising and everyone in the ground was thinking 5, 6 or 7 - 0

i completely understand why Pep took the players collective feet off the accelerator. The game was won and there was no need to take too many risks. However we were absolutely shocking in the second half. We barely made a forward pass so there was no attack. Our midfield disappeared and the defenders played like strangers.

I don’t like to pick on any one in particular but Philips just doesn’t appear to have the quality to play in this team.

Having said all that we are now three points closer to Arsenal who must be s……g themselves.
I really don’t get all the philips hate though, the goal was just the mistake. Everyone was poor second half.

Dias was at fault for Maddison and Ihenachos chances.

I think the changes were just too early and that is all. The only thing to learn from the ending is that Pep should probably place less trust on the fringe guys.

Just back hotel, knackered

Great first half then got the slippers and pipe out

At 3-1 couldn’t help think of Crystanbull

Three points but fuck me, our squad depth is a myth based on that match. Phillips, Palmer, Gomez with next to fuck all about them.

As soon as the third went in we went to shit.
I think that there weren't enough of our experienced players left on the pitch to offer guidance and support towards the end of the game.
After being in total control we almost threw 2 points away.
Luck was with us as Eddie made a good save and Iheanacho hit the post when he should really have scored.
