If he makes the difference between qualifying and not qualifying for the Champions League, it is worth quite a lot of money. Lastly it is also a matter of what the lad actually wants himself. Maybe he sees it as a big step to move to and live in the UK. How old is he? 19, 20?

Also, it depends on the player, if he wants to say no to us for Bayern, Schalke cant do much. For me it is more surprising that he does not skip Götze for Sane - but than Löw would have to put his own pet project Özil onto the left side and let Müller play behind Gomez (what would be smarter anyways as he is way better pressing, tackling and nearer to the box...)

It's more so that Kimmich was playing in the 2nd division prior to Pep/Munich and Pep coached him all the way to a now starting role for Germany. That should be looked at as a postive for Sané. If Götze continues to fall off domestically that should open the spot soon enough for Sané. Being at S04 got him in the door but joining us could cement a place in Germany's XI versus staying and hoping Bayern utilize him next season.
