Barker is clearly better than some of those, and he was passed over. I think it's pretty clear that the management were making a point of not giving him his debut, for some reason other than his playing ability.
Maybe he wouldn't promise Pellegrini that he would stop, turn round and pass sideways when he had a full back isolated.

Well would you consider Robben, Ribery, Costa or Coman wingers? They'll be wingers in that sense.

From what I saw at the tail end of last season, he's definitely not cracked the physical side yet. He drifted in and out of games, got really clearly tired, and was still getting barged off the ball a lot more than someone like Sterling, who is obviously physically capable despite being small.

In a years time he'll be ready, and the experience of playing in Europe and winning some silverware will be good for him.

Last season Faupala, Angelino, Tosin, Humphries, Aleix Garcia, Manu Garcia, and Iheanacho all got given debuts.

He scored 7 goals from 12 games.

I'm sure the experience will be good. But it would have been even better now to get the game time Kelechi has had. He's ready and unlike Sterling he's a proper wide player. I take the point that he's not got much experience in the top leagues, but his talent is obvious. Really annoys me that he's not available to pep next season. Massive error.

I imagine Pep sanctioned it.

The length of loan won't have been under Pellegrini's control.

Yes,his attitude isnt right.

I imagine if it was, talent wise,he'd be at least a match for Sane.

Heard lots of people say Barker's attitude and application is very poor. Typical young British footballer. cant really compare him to Sane who's light years ahead on his development.

Are you two saying this is the case then ?

I don't know the lad or have any inside information, but it's not the first time I've heard people allude to it.

I was actually thinking more that he's easily frustrated when things don't go his way, and his head tends to drop. I'd prefer to think they just want him to mature a bit and stop another Pozo-esque confidence destroying scenario than think his attitude is wrong.

Fair enough.

Only reports I've ever heard is that he's a nice lad.

Why is it an error??

The kids only 19, he still needs to improve

Besides he wouldn't get any game time which is why he's on loan
