Leroy Sané

Would you have Sane back?

It's like dropping in to see your ex... You'd only do so if you're not over them & having regrets.

However, I firmly believe you should never go back. Think about the good times. Forget about the bad & keep moving forward.

Sometimes people can't quit each other because there is still love there even if it isn't healthy.

The days of Leroy as a winger are gone, but what was surprising to me in the 2 games was how well he played the KDB role for them.

We have to phase out KDB soon but I would think Pep prefers Julian there.

But Leroy is a 10 now, not a 7 or 11.

Why can’t he come back? We need to move Phil inside anyway. Move Mahrez on in the summer and we have space plus a player who can offer us a new dimension in games. Stranger things have happened. I can see this materialising with no proof but gut instinct.
This is what I’ve been thinking. Mahrez and maybe even Palmer to move on with Foden going into attacking midfield to be an Gundogan replacement and we have a space on the right wing for Sané. In the first half of the first leg he also looked really good in attacking midfield (although Tuchel moved him wider on the left in the second half which was odd as he was the biggest problem we had).

I’ve always felt that there’s unfinished business with Sané and City. He still lives in Manchester, his kids go to school in Manchester, he is always complimentary about the club, he pops in to see the lads at the CFA from time-to-time…

All of the following have played for City in two different stints:
Billy Meredith
Denis Law
David Connor
Kenny Clements
Peter Barns
Asa Hartford
Dennis Tuart
Ray Ranson
Nicky Reid
Ian Bishop
Paul Dickov
Shaun Wright-Phillips

Bayern probably suffer from having to unpick defensive, low block sides most games in the Bundesliga, as we do in the PL.

Could Leroy's slide from 1 in 4 in the PL to 1 in 5 in the Bundesliga be purely down to playing with more creative players at City?

Are there any current Bayern players who could compare with David Silva & Kev?

Which specific recent instances has Leroy sulked, moaned & pissed his team mates off?

Well it’s no secret that I’m a guesser, just like you and everyone else on here.
I aggregate information in cribs and drabs (and, yes, in dribbles) from various sources down the years and take on a general opinion. I don’t keep a journal (but hats off to you if you do).

I no, as you already know, I don’t have an insight into the Bayern dressing room, so I’m wondering what you might expect to get from that question (other than a pumped up sense of self worth in an otherwise pitiful existence ;-))?

But I’ll play your game, while the kettle boils, and remind you that we were all aware that he had issues when he was with us, that his off-field issues tended towards aligning with his on-field scowling mush, that he still tends towards sulking and scowling and that very recently aligned with an off-field incident where he pissed off a team mate so badly that he got punched in the gob for it.

Make of it what you will. This is a forum for opinions, you’re quite welcome to yours so I won’t attempt to childishly pump my ego up by asking that you provide verifiable proof that he doesn’t sulk, moan and piss his teammates off (proof that counters the fact that recently got a punch in the gob for doing just that ;-D.

The bottom line is that I thought he had moments of brilliance when he was with us but that his attitude and commitment were flaky and his value was based on the promise of a continuing upward trajectory that he never achieved. Face up to facts, he flatlined after leaving us, never reached his promise.

PS. And I’m happy to disagree amicably. If we every did get him back I’d be perplexed but he’d get my support on the basis that Pep knows best, we’re all blues innit.
However, I won’t bend my opinion to follow what I see as a popular misconception, we’re not here to pleasure each other are we? This isn’t a monk’s circle so don’t expect a reach around eh?

Wow didn't know he still lives in Manchester

To be clear, I don't want Leroy back, but much of the criticism levelled at him is patently unfair imo.

I've asked for examples of Leroy's bad behaviour at City, & weeks later his detractors are struggling putting a list of misdemeanours together.

If Cancelo leaves in the summer, can you see him dropping by to say hello in future? I can't, but I've never had the same feeling where Sané's concerned, hence this thread where 60% of this forum would love him to return.

No offence meant here Dribble but rather than having a Sane style tantrum in disgust at others not running around compiling evidence to support their opinions at your request, maybe you should get off your arse and do your own research to prove yours? ;-)

And if you don’t want Sane back then why are you challenging the opinions of those you say you agree with? I know it’s not what you generally do but it sounds like you’re just on the wind up here mate.

TBH I'd say Leroy can be equally as effective across the front. It shows he's evolved his game, but I wouldn't say he's KDB-esque.

The general theme with the players on that list is that they were never as good second time around.

Bloody Nora! Calm down petal! :-)

It's this simple, you made the "Leroy sulked, moaned & pissed his team mates off" claim, so you provide the supporting evidence...

You also claimed the following:

We were all aware that he had issues when he was with us, that his off-field issues tended towards aligning with his on-field scowling mush, that he still tends towards sulking and scowling

"We"? Speak for yourself mate, because I must have missed all these misdemeanours, hence why I find these Sané fallacies baffling.

What you're doing is similar to claiming Santa Claus is a real character, then asking me to disprove YOUR claim. You made the claim, so back it up with solid evidence if you possess a shred of any. \0/

As for Leroy getting smacked in the gob? Who was fined, suspended, made to apologise & is now reportedly seeking a summer exit from Bayern? Not Leroy as far as I'm aware, so how's he to blame?

I get it. Evidently you don't like Sané, but I'm just trying to ascertain why a supposed City fan is making unfounded cllaims against a former City player, & instead of backing up his claim with empirical evidence, you've chosen ad hominem attacks, presumably to deflect from the fact you don't possess an ounce of evidence to back up a word you've claimed, haven't you? :-/

Just so we're clear... I don't want Leroy back, but I'll defend him when people are making up spurious shit about him...

The only person having a tantrum is you fella. :-)

It's this simple... You made an unfounded claim about Sané & are attempting to dress it up as fact. Don't ask me to disprove your lame claim.

YOU made the claim. YOU provide the evidence.

Make it clear it's your personal opinion, or better still keep your cake hole shut & stop making up unfounded crap about a man you've probably never met... \0/

Me calm down? Hahaha you should read your hysterical outpourings!

And, as for spurious shit, you’re full of it dribble.

You can’t stand the fact that people hold opinions contrary to yours, but you’re just a guesser like everyone else and you don’t have the common sense or humility to understand that do you?

Anyhow, no skin off my nose, you’ve taken a journey up your own arse and become a right pompous twat matey, so I’ll just block you.

Fuckitty bye dickhead ;-D
