It was most certainly reckless. As you say it was deliberate, he could very easily have injured Lowton with a deliberate 'hack' which is reckless.
Like Mane's on Ederson, he knew what he was doing but it was still certainly reckless.
It's one thing to think "Good on him for dishing it out" which I understand but just don't personally agree with. Then another to say "wasn't a red" because even Stevie Wonder knows it was; very definition of violent conduct, premeditated to boot.
You may think people see it as "petulant" because it's Sané and not someone else, conversely I think people are turning a blind eye to it because it's Sané.
Are you really comparing it to Mane?
C'mon dude, they aren't even close to being comparable.
Mane swung a foot in the hope that Ederson would back out. Mane had zero control over the situation.
Sane knew Lowton was in a set position, and he could kick him in that manner. That is not reckless. It's calculated.
The way you are going on you'd swear Lowton was down for 20 mins and then stretchered off. He wasn't. You're overreacting.
The irony is almost to a man those saying it was a yellow are those also saying Kompany deserved a red card...so it's hardly blue tinted glasses as some have said.
